The Democrats typically lead Republicans in early voting during midterm and presidential election cycles. In 2016 the Democratic lead in early voting was such that it inspired major news outlets, AP for example, to run articles with titles like Early voting: More good signs for Clinton in key states. Among the states in which early voting portended a victory for Hillary, according to AP, were Florida and North Carolina. The story went on to quote her spokesperson as follows: The Clinton campaign describes both North Carolina and Florida as checkmate states. Trump won both of course.
Oddly, most of the major media have been reluctant to report early voting trends in the current cycle. AP has reported on it only when there are vague complaints about alleged voting machine problems.

... On Monday NBC reported, The data suggests enthusiasm among early GOP voters that could put a dent in Democratic hopes for a blue wave in the midterms. Early GOP voters were leading Democrats by large margins in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Montana, Tennessee, and Texas.

The current nationwide total of early or absentee ballots counted exceeds the 2016 total from two weeks before Election Day. Republican-affiliated voters make up 44 percent of the early voting electorate and Democratic-affiliated voters make up 40 percent of the early voting electorate.
So, there are two unusual phenomena associated with this years early voting the overall participation has been far higher than is usually the case in a midterm election, and Republican ballots are materializing in significantly higher numbers.

About abortion—it is our babies that are literally going down the drain.
The Dems have outworn their welcome, the more people see of them the more they are turned of by them. Their decision to put the pedal to the metal and go all out with their extremist views have finally wakened many people up. The President is certainly a compelling attention getting figure who is getting his powerful pro-American message to the people.
For many young people this is probably the only time someone told them they could have pride in their country.
I think Mueller is getting cold feet.
Agreed. It’s a combination of the two factors that will turn the manufactured blue wave into a red wave. More people waking up, and the elimination, or at least vast reduction in voter fraud.
“Trump wants a weak AG..”
Its not that Trump wants a weak AG.
It’s just that many of his supporters expected all sorts of public arrests, indictments and show trials, with Democrats being perp walked in orange jump suits - and Trump is not going that route.
Trump obviously has other plans for draining the swamp - a more subtle and long term approach - some people wanted blood and are disappointed so they are blaming Sessions.
It just doesn’t add up that a strong POTUS like Trump would let himself be cock blocked by Jeff Sessions (or any AG) for two years. No way.
I think Trump has made the calculation that there are better ways to defeat the Left than throwing them in jail - just to be pardoned later and return to politics as martyrs.
Trump is discrediting their ideas, dismantling their bureaucracies and agendas, defunding their lobbies and undoing their deals. The damage Trump is doing will set the progressive movement back half a century.
By the time Trump is done with them, Democrats will have a hard time winning any elections, and the fake news will be a laughing stock.
For those supporters who hoped to see the Obama’s and the Clintons behind bars, or hanged, Donald Trump will continue to be a big disappointment.
That “because you’d be in jail” comment was a great debate zinger, but that’s all it was.
“Trump is discrediting their ideas, dismantling their bureaucracies and agendas, defunding their lobbies and undoing their deals. The damage Trump is doing will set the progressive movement back half a century.

That works too.

That’s the most under reported aspect about illegal immigration. Some are dangerous criminals, but almost all get some form of government assistance almost immediately upon arrival and become a burden on the taxpayer. If given the chance to vote, they vote to keep the gravy train going.
