They can only hope for a frigid winter. It seems these pests are more acclimated to warmer climates.

We are in Lower Lehigh County and full of them. Seem to especially like rose bushes and red maple trees. We keep spraying with whatever bug killer we can find.

Globalism brings invasive species of both insects, viruses, and humans. All will cause destruction of the 1st world.

'The Spotted Lanternfly' is harming crops in Winchester, Virginia, WDVM reported. The Pennsylvania-based Churchville Nature Center said the creatures were also spotted for the first time on its property Thursday. What did they look like before they were spotted?

Hops and grapes. That’ll get the attention of folks.
Which cargo ship brought those in?

I know they are destructive but they are a pretty bug. They are just as pretty dead as they are alive though.

Bring back DDT. Problem solved.
To: caww
We need to bring back DDT. The airheads that support the banning of this pesticide for environmental reasons, need to take a long hard look at what is happening to the environment without it!

This species has four different life-stages where it appears to be different insects--but all are one species.
The four stages are, clockwise from upper left: Young nymph, older nymph, adult and molting nymph to adult stage.
Kill, exterminate, destroy!!!

A number of years ago the Emerald Ash Borer destroyed all the Ash trees here in S.E. Michigan. In the city of Troy, all the boulevards contained Ash trees and they all died. A couple of coworkers had huge ash trees in their yards that had to be taken down.
Tree removal services made a fortune.........
There was a lesson in that tho, don't populate a city with just one species of tree........
I know a farmer out in N.W. Kansas who would just leave the freshly cut and rolled hay bales out in the fields to be picked up when he needed to feed his cattle. I asked him why he didn't store them all together and he said if there were ever a fire, his entire cattle's food supply for a year would be wiped out.
You don't put all your eggs in one basket.
