I am not certain about this, but Beto may be allowed to keep all of the money donated to his campaign. If so, it explains why he does not want to share. Even if he loses, he has won the $38 million lottery. This will just provide him with a bigger platform to tell the rest of us how we should spend our money, or how we should let the government tell us how to do so.

You used to get keep unspent money raised for re-election, I mean keep it for yourself personally, is that still the case? Incumbents running unopposed used to rake in large donations (aka bribes) from wealthy supporters, it was quite the racket.
