As political discord appears to grow every day on Capitol Hill, Republican Senator Ben Sasse told "CBS This Morning" that the country is headed toward a "deeper, darker tribal place." Sasse, author of the new book "Them: Why We Hate Each Other - and How to Heal" (St. Martin's Press) argues that politics is merely "filling a void" in Americans' lives amid a "hallowing out" of their sense of community.
"I think politics are important but they're not the first thing, they're certainly not the only thing, and I think right now our politics are suffering because people are looking to find grand meaning there because we're not reflecting well on these core underminers of happiness at home," said Sasse.
He added, "We don't listen all that well in Washington. I'm one of eight people out of 100 in the Senate who's never been a politician before, so I'm new to this place, but politicians talk more than we listen. We should listen more than we talk."
Sasse's comments come after a new CBS News Battleground Tracker poll shows that 84 percent of registered voters surveyed say that the overall tone and civility in politics are getting much worse.

They have nothing to lose and everythign to gain. We HAVE TO impress into them that vote fraud will be investigated and there will be mandatory jail time (even if there's not- we just need to scare them off as much as possible)
There will be no investigation of vote fraud if they manage to pull it off- they will be back in charge!

In a way, I agree. The rejection of Christ by 100’s of millions of Americans, and the embrace of humanism and nihilism, has hardened our society. I fear the wrath of a just and righteous God.

The country has been heading to a more tribal place since the nation chose the path of affirmative action and diversity mandated by an imperial government over individual liberty and limited government. Once the government impacts individual outcomes based on group identity individuals have the incentive to band together into tribes in order to use government power to distribute more wealth and power to the tribe.

Just leave already, jackhole. Notice these GOPe senators, Flake and Sassehole, NEVER step down when even they admit that they could never win a GOP primary. They hang around and try to screw the voters of their states, who they deceived into thinking they were conservatives, for as long as they possibly can.
I go back to 1992 and the book Votescam written by the late James Collier. Absolutely nothing has been done x 25 years so I’m curious what it is you thing we should do now, two weeks out from the midterms?
