We need to answer their constant drum beat about preexisting medical conditions.
Self | Self

Posted on 10/13/2018 6:23:53 PM PDT by Bellflower

Everywhere the opposition has ads poured out about how heartless the evil, mean Republicans are. They want to take healthcare away from poor, poor people with preexisting illnesses. All they care about are big corporate insurance companies. They are dirty, and bought and payed for by them.

If you are a good and decent person with any kind of heart at all you will vote for the good and decent Democrat, who cares about people and doesn't want to kill them.

Besides, really frightening, is the possibility that you or someone you care about could be, or eventually become one of those with a preexisting health condition. If so, you can be sure those evil Republicans will heartlessly leave you and your love one to die, too.

This pops up everywhere, but I haven't heard any Republican rebuttals. Maybe they are out there, but I haven't run into them. This seems to be the opposition's main ammunition. They have next to nothing but this tear jerker. They are trying to cause people to feel that if they are decent human beings they must vote for the lovely, compassionate Democrats, who care about people over big corporate insurance companies.

OK, isn't it obvious that since this is their constant drumbeat, their main ammo against us, that we need to address this, and address it fast, completely and convincingly? We need to target people's hearts, as well as their minds. We need to fight fire with fire.

What say all of you?

McCaskill had a preexisting conditions ad about her cancer.

She failed to mention that she and the dims exempted themselves from 0bamacare and she enjoys a gold plated tax payer funded policy.

0bamacare, good enough for you, not good enough for the dims running for reelection.

Yes. This is their most effective issue. Seems every poll puts “healthcare” as the number one issue of concern.
“Pre-exising conditions” is at the core of that.

The media compare a make-believe stingy Republican system with the present generous one.
(They wouldn’t be able to if McCain had voted as he said he would!)

First off: PEOPLE WITH PREXISTING CONDITIONS ARE ALREADY CHARGED MORE- some of them that is- like smokers.
Smokers are charged up to 50% more.
I think that is a reasonable way to limit all preexisting condition chargess. (But there must be an acturarial basis so inexpensive conditions aren’t exploited.)

The problem is not health care for people with pre-existing conditions.

The thing that’s making medical care and thereby insurance, too expensive, is the FREE medical care offered to anyone on welfare and all the illegal aliens.

It’s not the people and companies who are paying thousands of dollars a month for health insurance.

What I used to say when I sold life health and disability insurance is that you can’t buy insurance for a house that’s already burned down. People get that pictorial image.
Insurance is when everyone joins into a pool to wager that they won’t be hurt or sick, but if something happens, everyone else in the pool will assist them. But you have to decide to join the pool and pay the premium. You can’t come along later and want the others who thought ahead to care for you as if you deserve it as much as the joiners do while not paying the price.
The pre existing conditions concept is a trap PDJT has fallen into. Because it is not insurance anymore but truly universal healthcare, which will bankrupt us all.

Right, and we need to honestly and heartfully package and market our solutions. We need to explain to the public the ramifications of the Democratic plans. We need to be honest with people and let them know and feel our honesty. We need to let them know how the Democrats are playing them. We must get our heads out of the sand, pretending that this attack by them doesn’t even exist.

Correct.

On the other hand I know what has happened to some. When they got a health condition they were then conveniently “let go”. Also, when people get sick and can’t work they must keep paying their premiums or they lose their coverage. They have mounting bills and lose their coverage. There are nasty loopholes that leave people in the lurch. Insurance companies will often do everything in their power to keep from paying out when the time comes when it is their turn to make the neccessary payments. Things do in some situations need to be more fair.

The first thing we need to do is define "pre-existing conditions" correctly.

If you are insured and then apply for a renewal after you face a serious medical condition, this should not be considered a "pre-existing condition."

If you are insured and then change insurance carriers after you face a serious medical condition, then this shouldn't be considered a "pre-existing condition," either.

The only pre-existing conditions in medical insurance should be those that came up while you were uninsured. Insurance plans should NOT be required to cover those.

I don’t care if you had the absolute perfect answer for pre-existing conditions. As soon as you presented it to the Dims...they’d move the goal posts and call you an old meanie because you don’t agree with their “new” cause. You can’t win with them.

Agreed about need for open and honest communication. I’d suggest we take some of the formerly run state programs and explain how well they worked.

It seems to me, that the insurance company that insured you when you developed the “pre-exiting”condition should be on the hook for following through until you are either cured or dead. I don’t know hoe you would keep track of that, but that would be fare.

the American people are being gouged by,
doctors, hospitals, drug companies.
we Republicans can either fix this,
or the Dems will win and destroy our country.
take your pick.

medical savings accounts, cross state insurance

is not good enough

I want to puke when some billionaire
like McCain or Libaugh tells working class people
what to do. they have no idea how things are

In our state we already had a program before Obamacare for those with pre-existing medical issues. It wasn’t cheap but I know at least 3 people who were on it at one time or another.

In my day we just paid for our medical care. A doctor visit was $4.16, there were no specialists in our town.

Mine have ALWAYS been covered by group plans thru work.

Only people that you're talking about are those not covered by work, Medicaid or Medicare.
