In an effort to calm people down (namely RINOs) that someone ‘steady of hand, steady of mind’ was REALLY in charge, I can imagine Mr. Trump enlisting the help of an Aide to compose and ‘Leak’ that sort of a missive.
Another clue is that it became a major distraction for a few days, the guessing game of Who Wrote It? drove other things off the top headlines. Stories of Stormy, stories of Mueller. Another clue; the story just kind of faded away, with no one declared as
