After Doctor Christine Blasey Ford's testimony on Thursday, the National Sexual Assault Hotline reported a 147 percent increase in its normal call volume. That's a trend that we have seen since the #MeToo movement.
Advocates say more sexual assault victims have been inspired to come forward.
Daniele Dreitzer is the Executive Director of the Rape Crisis Center.
"We've seen our counseling numbers go up, we've seen our support group numbers really expand," she said.
In the first half of the year, the center saw a 24% increase in the number of calls to its hotline.

This is consistent with the hypothesis that this tactic would generate a wave of spite- or blackmail-driven false claims.
Well, I will take an unpopular position:
This is, perhaps, THE ONLY good thing to come out of the Kavanaugh Fiasco.
Genuine and more-recent sexual assaults will get reported, since women were inspired by Christine B’Lousy Fraud.
Let us hope none of these new reports are 36 years old, though.
And did hubby grope you when you were dating. And did the boy before grope you? And did the boy before grope you. You of course reported these gropes to the police.
I was just telling my teenager something similar today. I said teenage girls without a boyfriend to grope them will welcome any boy who would grope them. Makes them feel “desirable “ or something

Maybe the example of Christine B’Lousy Fraud will encourage more women to report sexual assaults WHEN THEY OCCUR, which is what should happen, instead of waiting 36 years and then blindsiding someone for political gain with charges that cannot be corroborated.
If Christine B’Lousy Fraud did not do it for political agenda reasons (and I do not think she’s totally innocent of that - just look at her personal/political actions & associations), then the Democr@ps certainly jumped on the opportunity to do it for her.

In general that is not unpopular. What would be unpopular is supporting the “must be believed” bs, false reports, and over reactions. There has to be some temperance there.
I don’t think anyone would want the females they care about treated that way and I certainly don’t.
On the other side of the coin, I have a lot more forgiveness for adolescent behavior.

Agreed. Short of actual serious crimes, such as murder, rape, arson, et. al., much more should be tolerated of the young. They are learning how to behave within societal norms. Groping (and getting SLAPPED!), shoplifting, fighting in the schoolyard, these are all learning experiences.
