Democrat Andrew Gillum has a 5-point lead over Ron Desantis (R) in the upcoming Florida gubernatorial election, according to a poll released Tuesday.

The NBC/Marist Poll found that 48 percent of likely voters surveyed said they would vote for Gillum if the election were held today, while 43 percent said they'd support DeSantis. Seven percent of those surveyed said they remain undecided.

Results are expectedly skewed based on party affiliation, with 90 percent of Democrats backing Gillum and 86 percent voicing support for DeSantis.

DeSantis needs to air commercials talking about demonrats wanting a state income tax and gun confiscation.

Amendment 5 on the Florida ballot would make tax increases dependent on a 2/3 majority of the vote. The demonrats are already airing ads opposing the amendment and Gillum has released a statement opposing it. Wonder why?

Gillum is a big gun-grabbing proponen too.

Why isn’t DeSantis running warm, fuzzy, FACTUAL ads about the great economy, low taxes, the truths about socialism (i.e. Venezuela), etc???

Why isn’t he in this to win this?

I’m frustrated w/Cruz, here in TX....for not running ads. NoBeto is saturating the airwaves and the landscape w/his name.

O’Rourke campaign was even a step ahead on google searches. While searching for Cruz campaign office contact info.....Beto’s website was the first thing to pop up :-(

The Dems have given SO much LOW hanging, socialist/violent/obstructionist fruit for Pubbies to swing at....and all I’m seeing are misses and strikes.

The polling I did for the Gop showed both at 40%.
Similar to the local FL polls on RCP like the FIU .
No one has name recognition .

No one is polling at 48 %.

Gillum is funded by a Funded by a DC Radical Black leftist group and Calif nutter Steyer so People better getting volunteering and funding
Desantis has been hitting the Hispanic community..

But does not have the out of state Donors nor the left wing
sites like the Hill pushing only very skewed polling results .

Odd how the Hill only peddles fellow left wing polls bur ignored the FIU polls.

Politico reported tonight that Tom Steyer is committing $5 million to Gillum's campaign. Reason:

“He’s a really unusual candidate,” Steyer said five days before the primary as he, liberal financier George Soros and other donors pumped $650,000 more into the effort to support Gillum.

Steyer told The New York Times, which first reported the new commitment on Tuesday, that he liked Gillum because he’s “a fierce gun control person, he’s been a climate champion ... He’s called for the impeachment of the president. He’s been willing to talk plainly to Florida voters, and they’ve responded.”

...During the primary, Steyer directly contributed $800,000 to Gillum. Steyer spent an additional $600,000 on a get-out-the-vote field campaign and online advertising for the Democrat, targeting young and minority voters through his NextGen group.

For this round of contributions, Steyer is spending $750,000 more on a field campaign, $800,000 more on mail, about $2.5 million more on digital ads and an additional $1 million for a union-tied group called For Our Future.

DeSantis is running a crappy campaign. All puppies and bunnies. He needs to go after Gillum HARD. Take the gloves off. Who’s advising him, Schmidt?

And I’m the biggest DeSantis fan on the board.

Wtf, Ron?!?

I thought outcome was based on the Obama 2008 outcome.
The left wing media polls are all planning on a massive black vote.
Makes sense .

“Let that be a lesson. You get ONE CHANCE to get it right with Trump - if you blow it, life gets very difficult, as Ted Cruz is now dealing with.”

Are you sure about that? Losing Cruz’s senate seat or the governor’s race in Florida would hurt Trump as much as anyone.

It wasn’t Trump supporters that chased Ted Cruz and his wife from a restaurant earlier today. It had nothing to do with any past competition with Trump for the nomination. In fact, it is BECAUSE of his support for the president’s judicial nominations, border policies, tax reforms, and other things that Cruz is being attacked so viciously.

Further, President Trump has offered to hold a Texas rally to boost Cruz’s reelection. That doesn’t sound like Cruz blew his one chance to support President Trump.

Again, you are full of guano. Stop projecting your Jersey politics on Florida. You know heavily demonrat Jersey where even Republicans are flaming liberals. I live in Florida where Republicans see abortion as murder, homos as perverts and guns as a God-given right that the state can't meddle with. Centrists - easily swayed voters - are a small percentage here. Without transplants from the northeast and the illegal immigrants, rat voters would be rare here.

You are correct that Florida is a swing state, a heavily polarized swing state, but that could be corrected by banning immigration from commie guanohole states like New York and New Jersey and strengthening ICE.

Call the local RNC office in your local FL counties .
Each office has a Desantis and Scott rep .

I know my local rep and have made that same point .

I see Desantis ads during College football but good attacks are needed .
Out of stats money is pouring in for the Socialist .

Rona McDaniel Romeny, or whatever her name is (RNC head) said that the GOP has raised record $$$$.

Why aren’t we spending this money to counter the $$ being spent by this creep Steyer?
