Democrat Andrew Gillum has a 5-point lead over Ron Desantis (R) in the upcoming Florida gubernatorial election, according to a poll released Tuesday.

The NBC/Marist Poll found that 48 percent of likely voters surveyed said they would vote for Gillum if the election were held today, while 43 percent said they'd support DeSantis. Seven percent of those surveyed said they remain undecided.

Results are expectedly skewed based on party affiliation, with 90 percent of Democrats backing Gillum and 86 percent voicing support for DeSantis.

I preferred Cruz in the primary. But seeing Ted sheepish run out of a restaurant .... trump wouldn’t have run away.

I made the wrong choice in the primary.

Are you insinuating that the dimocrats will win in November?

I went to Disney for the first time when I was 21. Loved it! SO expensive. And that was back then. 47 now, can’t even imagine how expense Disney currently is.

Lots of stupid Jews, blacks and Hispanics in Florida.

Gillum is a racist, anti-Semite and Marxist so why would they support him? Oh, he’s a Democrat.

My bad!

PS: I’m Jewish and have distant relatives in Florida. I hope that they are the sane ones.

I read a story a couple of days ago that a study of Google, determined they had manipulated the people with the search results which gave Hillary her popular vote margin. Google got ‘credit’ for her ‘extra 2 million’. Google isn’t honest. That’s why negative search results come up on Conservatives while Libs get positive search results.

Yep, many here regretted supporting Cruz in the Primary - primarily because he wouldn’t have had the gonads to go head-on against Hillary, due to fear of losing ‘the women’s vote’. Nothing unique about Cruz on that, every other Republican running in 2016 would have melted down too.

As far as the restaurant, knowing the media, if Cruz stuck around and things got nasty, Cruz would have been blamed (just as Trump is blamed for all of the Left wing violence these days) - so Cruz probably did the right thing at that time, given what we’re up against.

Scott was not ahead in 2010 or 2014 in September.
You must be looking at Nov final Rcp data not Sept .
The polls had Scott behind in Sept both times.

With rare exceptions political polls are attempts to sway public opinion as is this poll. The real polls are paid for by both political parties and shape their strategy. They pay big bucks for these polls and are totally private. The results of these polls are never never never public.

Rasumussen is pretty damn honest and oddly of which I really do not understand in the last election the LA Times was honest.

Rasmussen in his personal beliefs is a liberal. He has made much money by being an honest pollster.

So Floridians are tired of wealth, comfort, abundance, and taking charge of their own lives and want to emulate Venezuela.

And what does that have to do with fretting over a bogus poll in Sept?

Yeah - but all that has been going on for 40 years or more.....I moved here from Naples and know the pattern well. As my elderly parents lived in Naples I’ve been down there for weeks every year from ‘73 to 2013. Of course, Collier County is still ultra-conservative.

No - it’s something else. The big swing left is both recent and huge

The immigration from the northeast has accelerated as baby boomers are retiring and can't afford to live in their tax hell states. They're so stupid they don't realize that voting rat is what made their states unaffordable tax hells.

In addition, Puerto Rico and Mexico flushed their dregs and many ended up here. The Mexicans are the result of Obozo's open borders for 8 years. Overwhelmingly, Mexicans vote straight rat ticket because they want "free stuff." Puerto Ricans can legally vote if in the US, so I'm hoping Trump comes up with a plan to entice them to return to Puerto Rico. We need to give Puerto Rico independence to stop that flow of undesirables.

Red tide affects tourism. The beaches are closed for swimming in alert areas. Even without that the stench of rotting fish turns local people away. The major problem area now runs all the way up the west coast from Fort Meyers to Tampa.

After the smoke settled, there was simply NO GOP candidate who would have been able to withstand the media onslaught on behalf of their preferred candidate, HRC. If Republicans don’t learn to ape (is that racist?) the Trump willingness to push back and attack, DJT may be the last GOP president.

In my commonwealth’s last governor’s race (Kentucky), on election day the D led the R by five points. The R won by nine.
