North Korean leader agrees to dismantle missile testing, launch facilities

Not everyone is as pleased with the announcements as the president appears to be. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. said the visit could possibly undermine efforts by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley to impose “maximum pressure” on Pyongyang.

“While North Korea has stopped testing missiles and nuclear devices, they have NOT moved toward denuclearization,” he tweeted.

Other analysts have noted that the North has yet to reveal where all of its nuclear facilities are located, a move they say is necessary to ensure compliance with eventual denuclearization pledges.

But it’s not realistic at this point to expect Kim to do that. We’re still very early in this process, and while progress appears to have been made after this third summit between the two Korean leaders, it’s just not practical to expect Kim to simply agree to full disclosure and nuclear disarmament short of receiving assurances from the U.S. that Washington is playing straight.

Where are those in the nuke industry going to be re-employeed? We need names and how they are being engaged in other work, such as designing and building other industries. They have vast natural resources to be tapped.

Imagine if Clinton was prez. Is it out of the realm of possibility that a war in the Korean Peninsula would have happened or planeloads of cash would head to North Korea?

“The nuclear scientists and engineers will be offered jobs in Iran.”

Or some other rogue state.... That is exactly why we need names and what happens to them. They will want to continue making a good living, and it is up to North Korea to find a way to keep them employed so they won’t go elsewhere.

It’s a good promise since all the ICBMs they’re manufacturing are being deployed on TELS and SLBMs. No hard launch sites or testing required.

In February they declared all missile development and testing was completed, successfully. They’re now in serial production of solid-fueled ICBMs and SLMBs armed with W-88 copy warheads.

It will be announced shortly that Pompeo will be meeting with the NK Foreign Minister next week in New York.

NK has to hand over a verifiable inventory of all its nukes and delivery systems.
