(SALEM, Ore.) The discovery of a black lab named Lucy led to the unravelling of a criminal case Monday against an Oregon man who had begun serving a 50-year prison sentence.
Joshua Horner, a plumber from the central Oregon town of Redmond, was convicted on April 12, 2017, of sexual abuse of a minor.
In the trial, the complainant testified Horner had threatened to shoot her animals if she went to the police about the alleged molestation, and said she saw him shoot her dog, killing it, to make his point. ...

After Lucy was found, the complainant failed to attend a meeting in August to discuss her testimony, Hummel said. Last Wednesday, one of his investigators heard she was at a home near Redmond. When he pulled up to the driveway, she ran away.
If the dog didn’t $#*+ you must acquit.
She sounds sly and deceptive.
“Six months after a jury convicted Horner in a verdict that was not unanimous, he asked the Oregon Innocence Project for help. The group took up his case.”
How do you get convicted in a hung jury?
Confusing story.
The man seems to have been convicted with flimsy evidence and exonerated with equally flimsy evidence.
I guess he could not afford a (good) lawyer.
The accuser should be sued for defamation and much, much more.
NOTHING.
In some jurisdictions, a majority verdict is all that is needed.

Don’t move to Oregon!
The other state that allows non-unanimous verdicts is Louisiana.
This little sh1t of a woman needs to serve his 50 year sentence.
Sounds like another Cankles/Omarosa in the making.
Thank you. Remind me to stay out of Oregon.
That’s terrible.
Imagine if Anthony Kennedy was on your jury.
I agree. Her lies almost ruined this man’s life and we know it happens all the time. The liar should always get the exact same punishment as the person they lied about. Always. Anything less is NOT justice.
An allegation must be proved and does not need be disproved. There is no proving an allegation either way. That is liberal tripe for logic. Make an allegation and then proclaim that there are two sides to every story.
I believe they should get a longer sentence. They not only try to frame and screw an innocent man, they use the legal system as a weapon and make fools out of the justice system at the same time, furthering peoples mistrust of already messed up courts.
