Berlin fears a meltdown of the Turkish economy could spill over into Europe, cause further unrest in the Middle East and trigger a new wave of immigration toward the north. “We would do a lot to try to stabilize Turkey,” a senior German official said. “We don’t have much choice.”

Other European governments have grown equally concerned. Hosting his Turkish counterpart in Paris on Monday, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said it was important to support Turkey’s efforts to repair its economy.

Erdogan is basically extorting Europe. Pay up, or else we’ll send more refugees.

Hey...I have an idea. Simply don’t let any more refugees in. Remove the ones already there from any sort of welfare or government assistance (you know, the “magnet” drawing them).

Erdog has got them by the Beer-Barrels.
At least for now. The Germans may eventually find a
‘permanent solution’ to this Turkish Troublemaker.

Germany should toe the line with the US. We still occupy and protect their country. Else, we should pull out and leave them to their fate. And if they cross the US, let’s boycott German products, cars made in Germany, for example. Idiots they are for undermining the US and siding with Islamic regimes that will spit in their eye sooner than be their ally.

Hey, I have an idea. Call the Turks and tell them to honor the deal they made with Trump to release the American prisoner. Trump held up his end of the deal, then the ba$tards came back and asked for more.

The “sick man of Europe” continues to destabilize and sabotage Europe as well as the rest of the world. Here is the problem: Islam, always remember that. ‘Nuff said. Get Turkey out of NATO and let it alone to float off to drown in its own idiocy.

Yeah, but Europe is extorting them right back: “we’ll destroy your economy”.
It all works out...

Another problem is that all throughout Western Europe there are millions of Fifth Column Muslims who will be loyal to Erdogan, in a showdown with the West.

It won’t happen...Germans will dictate conditions and the chatter will end at that point.

True.
But Erd can’t afford to use them, the financial blowback would be too severe. Of course they can do damage on their own.
Erd thought he could count on Chinese money to support his arrogance, but Trump has put China in a bind.

Tuck Furkey, let it burn.

In fact, I’d let Putin have it. He’ll turn Istanbul back into Constantinople.

The Germans need Russian natural gas. The new pipeline runs across Turkey. It's that simple.

This is a dance with the devil but the Germans are already doing that with regard to immigration. This will not end well.

Then let Germany ally with Russia. Kick Germany and Turkey out of NATO. Do we really need NATO anymore anyway?

Some of the EU’s banks could be in deep doo thanks to their exposure to Turkey. Bet this is what Germany’s really worried about.
