Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who was diagnosed with brain cancer in July of 2017, has died. Its the same form that took the life of the late Sen. Ted Kennedy in 2009. Cortney wrote on Friday that Mr. McCain would be suspending medical treatment. For the past year, the Arizona Republican has been fighting the disease, which has kept him from Washington D.C. Sen. McCain cast the deciding vote in the GOPs failed attempt at the so-called skinny repeal of Obamacare. The measure went down 49-51. He has remained in Arizona for medical treatment since the end of 2017. Senator McCain was 81 years old, passing away nine years to the day of his colleague Sen. Kennedy, according to Jonathan Martin of The New York Times.
Mr. McCain ran for president in 2000 and 2008, becoming the Republican Party's nominee in the latter contest, though was ultimately not successful. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, being shot down over North Vietnam in 1967, where he remained in captivity for nearly six years. He was released in 1973.
McCain succeeded Sen. Barry Goldwater, "Mr. Conservative," in 1987 after the latter decided to retire.

McCain is making America great again! What a guy!
I think he’ll appoint Meghan after the Tuesday vote.
Yes.... He will expire many times here. and all over puke media. I say he will die 13,786 times in a week.
“For the next month all we will hear and see in the media is what a great American he was...”
It will be welcome relief to the big poof that will now be the Cohen/Manafort coverage. It might well be the most politically useful Mr. McCain has been in quite some time.
Ducey wont appoint anybody until after Tuesdays primary election.
Yes, they ran the clock out. I hate to say it but l bet they Kept him alive long enough to get Ducey past the Primary so he can put McTraitors Rat wife in his seat. A final FU
Sympathies to his family and friends.
I think it will be his daughter, not his wife.
Isn’t that ironic?
Good thought. Yes it is.
Can’t wait for the Wellstone Rally — NOT!
In some ways appointing Meghan would be better than the mom. She seems to get it now. The mom would just try to carry on the maverick legacy.
Well, we aren't no ways tired of winning.
A good soldier, perhaps... An awful and self serving “public servant” for sure.
I want to see the dead body before I believe it. And have it DNA tested by multiple unrelated, independent third parties.
Not letting this one escape the long arm of justice based on the say-so of his confidants. Let’s see the corpse.
The man served his country honorably. He was a POW. I give him the respect he’s earned for that.
Rest in Peace, Senator.

He was an American that fought for his country. Respect him for that.
Yep. The thread count here is going to be insane.
Like someone said earlier “ Teddy has been sober for the last 9 years”!
I better not say anything.
I believe he has crashed his last plant (5, if memory serves).
Yeah, “ I am no longer going to get treatment,....hack, cough, what is ........”
