Brennan is giving his paymasters what they want, lots of wild-eyed accusations and conspiracy theories. He trades on the fact he was CIA director, and has a security clearance to make a huge salary, bigger than he ever had working for the government. Whether or not he really means or believes what he says is a different matter.
Revoke a DC Swamper’s security clearance and he will go into a conniption fit. Why? Because a security clearance makes you a much hotter commodity on the private sector jobs market. Or as a Federal Gov’t contractor. Translates into higher salary and more respect. You have an edge compensation wise over someone with same background but without one.
When you are in our military or Federal government it can take 6-12 months for you to be investigated for your security clearance. Friends, enemies, neighbors are asked about you., A neighbor says you have loud drunken arguments with your wife? This can torpedo you getting a treasured security clearance.
