CNN’s Mudd: “Pisses Me Off” That Trump Failed to Mention McCain at Signing Ceremony
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 08/14/2018 4:29:29 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Phil Mudd can go from 0-60 faster than a Ferrari. After a long, measured, discussion on CNN this morning about the firing of Peter Strzok [Mudd thought it was the right decision], co-host John Berman invited Mudd, a former CIA and FBI official, to comment on President Trump’s failure to mention John McCain during a signing ceremony of the defense authorization bill named in his honor.

Mudd became immediately enraged, going off on this epic rant:

“Are you kidding me? Let me get this straight. So the President has insulted everybody from former Presidents Bush and Obama, Rex Tillerson, Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina. The guy’s got the temperament of a second-grader. My mom would have washed my mouth out with soap, and we sit there and say it’s okay if he does it because he’s been doing it for 72 years. You can’t even spend 10 seconds to thank a guy who’s on his deathbed? Really? That’s what we have to go tell a kid is what is presidential? Unbelievable, John. I mean, it just pisses me off.”

He needs to hurry up and die or quit the Senate. He hasn’t represented his constituents in years.

Its like they own a Senate seat as long as the pulse keeps beating. McCain is just a lifeless body on a drip somewhere in Arizona.

"Senator, just push this button to send the tweet we wrote for you."

Lol, right. Because he would totally want to honor a guy that used lies to try and stop him. Then after the fact, try to use it to impeach him. Mudd is a flake having an impossible time dealing with reality.

As far as those who have crossed him, Trump is more of a “cry havoc and release the dogs of war” kind of guy than a pandering schmoozer.

“Because he would totally want to honor a guy that used lies to try and stop him.”

Yes, you should, when that guy is dying, and you’re the President of the United States and Commander-in-Chief. You put that stuff aside for a moment and behave magnanimously.

McCain may be the most treasonous POS in the Senate—and that’s saying something.

Deathbed? By now that was likely either a hoax or he’s already gone.

And the Hanoi Hilton reports, like most reports about his service, are troubling.

Trump was being gracious not to bring him up.

Trump apparently focused on the line that precedes it: “I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.”

Again, we don't know fully the role that McCain played in the in the investigation of the Trump campaign by the FBI. Trump probably does. How much of that "stuff" can you put aside?

No doubt there will be a WH statement praising McCain upon his death for his service to the country. Mike Pence will likely attend the funeral or memorial service.

People close to Sen. John McCain have told the White House that the ailing Arizona Republican does not want President Donald Trump to attend his funeral and would like Vice President Mike Pence to come instead, a source close to McCain confirmed to NBC News.

Trump did not attend the recent funeral of former first lady Barbara Bush in Houston, Texas, in order "to avoid disruptions due to added security, and out of respect for the Bush Family and friends attending the service," the White House said last month. First lady Melania Trump attended the service instead, along with former Presidents George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and former first lady Hillary Clinton. Note: During the 2016 campaign, Barbara Bush said she didn’t know how women could vote for Trump and told CNN, “I’m sick of him.”

Former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush plan to be eulogists at McCain's funeral service, which is to be held at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., the source close to McCain said.

Agreed, and it would have been appropriate for Pres. Trump to have done the same yesterday.
