Newt Gingrich: The Trump Republican Party is arising out of a political revolution
Fox News ^ | August 11,2018 | Newt Gingrich

Posted on 08/11/2018 9:28:56 AM PDT by Hojczyk

This is a very important long-term development because it means that in 2019 and beyond the president will have a Republican Party substantially more favorable to his policies. It also means that the never-Trumpers will gradually decline into a less noisy, less relevant part of American politics.

The never-Trumpers are like the Bourbon monarchy, which “had learned nothing and forgotten nothing” (an apocryphal quote from Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord describing the Bourbons’ behavior after the abdication of Napoleon). Because of their inability to change, the Bourbons gradually disappeared as the French Republics created new patterns.

This shrinking and then disappearing process is nothing new.

The warning to Democrats and the media for the November elections should be pretty direct: If President Trump spends September and October defining the election on his terms, the outcome in November might be as shocking to the left as 2016’s was.

The most amazing thing about the Trump effect is how efficient it is.

Simple tweets have helped nominate the GOP candidates for governor and congressional seats in state after state. With this kind of economy of effort, it is no wonder President Trump is doing so many things in parallel.

In the process, the president is growing a Trump Republican Party that will turn the never-Trumpers into a fossilized remnant of bitter-enders that attract smaller and smaller audiences who pay less and less attention.

In short, this is what a political revolution looks like.

We have seen the effects of term limits in California.

A big nothing burger. It just means the shuffle the chairs on the Titanic.

Sorry, but Haley is no conservative. She goes along to get along. Making a few waves because it is in vogue.

he has taken the masks off of both established parties, so that the people can see the Democrats for the socialists that they have been since at least George McGovern, and the GOPe for the global mercantilists that they have been since at least Richard Nixon.

Man, I really liked that. I've thought that for a long time now.

“a successor to carry on after Trump is gone in 2024.”

And it ain’t Pence. Imagine going from bombastic Trump to soporific Pence. Trying to listen to his speech in Hawaii two weeks ago was positively painful. He said the right words, but OMG is he boring. Even though he’s a good man, I don’t think he could win.

“Newt is sometimes a lose canon saying one good thing one day and the opposite the next.”

Exactly right. Newt will make a knee-jerk comment criticizing Trump. Then helmet-hair Calista will remind him that she’d like to remain Ambassador to the Vatican. One or two days later, Newt will walk back his negative remarks. He doesn’t want to do anything to piss off his hot babe.

IIRC, last time it happened was when Trump implied he trusts Putin more than some American agencies. Newt joined the pig pile trashing Trump right off the bat. Then he did a 180.

“Bush HAD to know and never let on.”

Why WOULD Bush “let on”? He and his family are in it as deep as any Democrat. Didn’t he call Clinton something like his “ brother from another mother”? Clintons and Bushes have been as thick as thieves for decades, and still hang out together.

Bottom line: Bush was part of the depravity in the swamp. He knew. He didn’t let on. It would not have been to his benefit to expose it. Jeb! was their insurance policy to maintain the status quo.

Yes, the Bushes and Clintons have been friends for a long time. The Bushes lower their status when they consider the Clintons good enough to count as friends!

Bill is said to be chrarming, but that doesn’t fly in the face of the mounds of missing persons who got in their way. How can they overlook such a hard, senseless way of life. Hillary is known as the nastiest, rudest of the Clintons.

Barbara Bush said bill clinton was like a son to the family. That pretty much fixed it in who they are.
Didn’t bill clinton have a seat almost with the family at Barbara’s funeral?

Some years before the election, Perot asked Senior Bush to help him with a project regarding the military’s needs. Bush said he’d give Perot the money and Perot preceeded to do the trip.help. Bush renigned and left Perot holdint the bag of promises, undone.

That is one of the reasons, some give, for Perot running in the 1992 election that Bush lost to clinton. Payback comes at a time we wish we could change our mistakes.

Also, Laura Bush recently came out speaking against Trump voters... and for all the 8 years GW kept his mouth shut while obama spewed lies, WHY did he see fit to come down on his own voters in speaking against us.. he used up all the rest of respect he thought he had.

The Bushes even like obama better than they do Trump. I was never a worshipper of the Bushes. I remember when GW was governor, he put to death a woman (Carla Fay Tucker) who committed a horrible crime, but she found the Lord in prison and was a preacher of sorts, in the prison. GW executed her amidst all the calls to save her life. But what bothered me, he spoke very nasty words to her as he had her killed. His form, left me believeing he had no conscience.

He seemed to be behind the military... and after it all, I wonder even about that

Kim Clement spoke about the president who would come after Obama, not knowing who the man would be, saying that he would not be a praying man before he got into office but would become a praying man

I believe Trump now is the same man he was 8 years prior to being elected. Way back then, and before that, he was disheartened about the negative changes to our country, and was contemplating running for the presidency to turn things around. The timing wasn't right, resulting in Obama, and that strengthened his resolve to run in 2016.

My wife and I were thrilled when he announced his running, and we voted for him. Trump knew long ago that the country needed someone like him to shake up the swamp.

He is the same man, however he made some kind of realization that silently transformed him for the even better.

He reminds me of David of the Bible.
