John wrote about the police shooting and resulting death of one Thurman Blevins here. Police had been called to the scene by a citizen reporting gunshots fired from the street. When the police arrived, they found the perpetrator and his pistol in plain view. The video released yesterday shows the officers doing what they should have done, but Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey could only rouse himself to declare that he found the video traumatic. As the (Star Tribune) puts it, Frey declined to address the actions of Blevins or the officers.
KARE 11 included the video in its report (below). I thought some readers might be interested in checking it out.

Where did Blevins get the gun he was carrying?

I think they are planning the riots for this afternoon and evening.
There is nothing in the USA like the black community disease of DENIAL.
No charges! They should be looking at commendations. Hitting a moving target while moving yourself is not an easy task. Real life isn’t like the movies. Try it sometime.
Split-second reflexes! I had to slow the video way down to see Blevins turn to shoot (as opposed to looking over his shoulder). What’s absolutely clear is that he was carrying a gun in his hand. You can’t make it out in the video until he’s shot, but you see it fly from his hand, and then you get a real good look at it.
(I couldn’t load the video at the link provided, but I found one on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mdeJ4djpzk )
