Might Mister Cheadle worry that he’s on somehow on double, secret probation?
Its funny that Animal House rails against the conservative establishment that enforce arbitrary standards and rules to perpetuate a class of elites.
The gist was evil republicans and yet here the real oppressors are, once again, the leftists.
Why doesn’t this author focus on something that affects all of us. Namely, those damn Germans who bombed Pearl Harbor. Now that is something to be pissed about.
Lighten up Harry! Geez.
May have to go Dirty Harry on the Vice squad.
Just as we supposedly no longer have the technology to go to the moon, we no longer have the artistry and skill and non-PC sense of humor to make a movie as funny as “Animal House.”
Ah the irony. The “National Lampoon” style movies like Animal House and Caddyshack were considered liberal movies at the time. The irreverent, drunk, pot smoking liberal kids against the establishment. The establishment was made out to be stupid, overbearing and perhaps even racist. Sexual libertinism was a hallmark of these liberal movies and portrayed as a good thing, juxtaposed against mocking the sexual “repression” of their parent’s generation. Now we’ve come full circle.
Only a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-assed, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed, sack of monkey shit would ask that question.
Trust me, the “Otis my man” bar scene atmosphere was spot on for 1978 as per my experience at a rural SC juke joint the same year.
I read the whole article and missed the part where Donald Sutherland, as the professor, shagged Pinto’s girlfriend.
Thought that was highly offensive to today’s snowflake crowd?
A very funny and entertaining movie. More so then half the crap put out today. Not insulting because, oh its just a friggin movie!
And Shakespeare was so unwoke with EVERYTHING he wrote!
We should dig him up and spit on him.
The death of comedy. “Make Comedy Funny Again”
For God’s sake don’t tell this guy Blazing Saddles is on Amazon Prime. I watched it yesterday for the first time in many years. Talk about politically incorrect!
Great film.
I remember seeing it - having NO idea what it was about - with a few friends then the next day I was going through Fraternity Rush at U of Oregon and ‘on the set’ of the movie.
I already knew which house I was going to pledge as I had several friends there...
Turns out that two of my Brothers were extras in the film.
We celebrated our 75th Toga party the next year.
Fun times!
My 17 year old just saw this movie the other day for the first time. I dont think I ever saw him laugh so loud or long.
