I understand your view. I respect it.
Some people won’t watch NFL anymore. Some people won’t shop at Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods, or JC Penney. Some won’t eat at The Red Hen.
For my part, I just can’t drink Coke. I can’t willingly give my money to promote corporate advocacy of normalization of homosexuality.
Welcome to the conundrums of dealing with the unsaved, sinning world.
I still say the sin is theirs, not yours or mine, if we purchase their beverage. We are not embracing their entire company. They have a choice before God about what to do with the earnings they get. If there were no grace in a world full of sinners, nobody could move away from sin.
Sending prayers after the situation sounds like the right tack to me. Praying that this very company would be moved by the grace of God to embrace more of God and accordingly less of sin. I would think that these commercials DO turn people off independently of boycott activity, that focus groups would prove it, and if saner management that listens to the focus groups prevails, these commercials will be quietly sent by the boards as aberrations. But that involves grace. The other tack is to push Coke into the “gay” camp more deeply in a defensive posture. I don’t want that.
