We desperately needed “grating”. There is no “but”.
More NeverTrump nonsense, despite his liberties with the truth
WTF is wrong with these people?
Conrad may be angling for a pardon. He got the lavender shaft from our wonderful DOJ. He is a buddy of Mark Steyn.
We desperately needed grating. There is no but.

Yep.
I mean, I could say more, but that really sums it up.
I agree with the majority of what he said, but certain comments he makes are just way off base. I give it a B+.
Exactly. We need somebody dropping truth bombs. And Trump hesitate.
Almost all criticism of President Trump that doesn’t begin with outright hostility to American sovereignty and therefore disdain of anything that even remotely seems to assert it begins instead with hating his tone.
Where the utterly corrupt Obama won praises for his style Trump is mindlessly attacked in turn.
This reveals a great truth about American politics: we’ve gotten used to voting for nice looking suits. Or as I’ve long joked: who has the poofiest hair. Substance is secondary. Promisekeeping remote and unimportant in the eyes of the elected, especially Republicans who seem to think their main job is to be Statesmen ... which usually means getting along with Democrats even though the latter are often certifiably out for Republican blood.
Trump is an inversion of the modern American Statesman, such as it lamentably is. Hillary, the lying scheming witch queen of the DNC, very nearly is it’s embodiment ... no wonder they thought she was a shoe-in.
President Trump doesn't lie. He does discuss things like a normal person and not like a lying politician surrounded by attorneys.
Best quote of the piece: “He transcends the mealy-mouthed rhetoric of the past, thereby forcing a new recognition of American power.”
Henry Kissinger
Remembering that his primary audience are ridiculous lefties, I’d say it’s a good piece. The President is changing the world for the better, while fighting political foes who are psychotic in their pursuit of his ruin. God bless him.
It’s not that the President is “grating;” it’s just that you’re a pip-squeaking ass.
Grating? I view Trump’s comments
as refreshing.
He was hired to bust through the BS, not to look “pretty” doing it.
You want fifi and ineffective, then head back to Canada.
Someday, maybe, we will read an article without such ridiculous and snide asides. They are really insulting and grating, aren’t they?
Trump fights, he's a true leader and America needs him.
If you admired Ronald Reagan for always wearing a jacket and tie in the Oval Office, and wished Obama wasn't sticking his feet on the presidential desk or giving "shout-outs" during active shooter incidents, you might have problems -- if you're honest -- with Trump's tone.
That's not a dealbreaker. It doesn't mean you couldn't vote for the guy, but it might be something you feel and it would be dishonest to deny it or ignore it. Demand that people ignore what they can't help seeing and you're likely to lose them for good.
This reveals a great truth about American politics: weve gotten used to voting for nice looking suits. Or as Ive long joked: who has the poofiest hair. Substance is secondary.
And yet, style was a big part of Trump's appeal. It wasn't the usual style of politicians. But before he did anything or kept any promises, the showmanship was there.
Trump is an inversion of the modern American Statesman, such as it lamentably is. Hillary, the lying scheming witch queen of the DNC, very nearly is its embodiment ...
Two-time losers usually aren't the embodiment of anything. If Hillary had been able to fit the conventional mold better, she might have won. If you want to call Bill or Dubya or Barack the epitome of today's politicians you'd be more on the mark. Hillary never had what it takes to make it on her own.
Yes, DT refuses to be instructed in the Beltway Gravitas Speak which enables one to sound (self) important while saying absolutely nothing at all other than ‘peasants kneel before your betters who will happily destroy your town's economy and find numerous places without a scintilla of US significant interests in (Bosnia, Kossovo and Slick Willy's splendid little war with Serbia, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, etc, etc.) to send the peasantry's offspring to risk like and limb so they and their other very dignified and most important buddies can make a pile of cash.
In other words DJT refuses to be one of the ‘great and good’, as one book actually was titled that infest DC.
Good article. One thing he points out is that Trump is waking up and emboldening some of the wusses in other places, such as Canada, to go and support their people and oppose policies that are destructive to their countries.
I voted for Trump, but I didnt like him because I didnt believe he was serious about what he said. But apparently he was, and thats why a lot of Americans and even foreign countries like and respect him now.
The Dems look like toddlers having a tantrum.
When it’s time to shred the cheese, you get a grater.
