Lindsey Graham: Now We Know Carter Page FISA Warrant Was Based On "Garbage" Steele Dossier
realclearpolitics ^ | 07/22/2018 | Tim Hains

Yesterday, the Department of Justice released a heavily redacted version of the FISA warrant used to surveil 2016 Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page. Sen. Lindsey Graham told CBS's 'Face The Nation' on Sunday that Steele's dossier was "garbage," and because "they never told the court that he was a paid operative in the Democratic Party" the FISA warrant (and those who filed it) need serious scrutiny.

MARGARET BRENNAN: This morning the president is again accusing the Justice Department and the FBI of misleading courts and illegally surveilling his campaign. He’s pointing to these documents that were just released about Carter Page who was a campaign associate and has admitted to having advised the Kremlin at one point. You sit on Senate Judiciary. Is the president wrong? SEN. GRAHAM: No I think that the whole FISA award process needs to be looked at. The warrant on Carter Page was supported mostly by dossier that came from Steele who is being paid by the Democratic Party to do opposition research and the dossier was collected I think from Russian intelligence services and if you ask the FBI today how much of the dossier on Trump has been verified. Almost none of it.

Hopefully John McCain who started all this will be taking a dirt nap soon.

So, Lindsey, ol buddy - what is Congress going to do so as to correct this clear violation of the Constitution??? Another two year committee investigation that leads no where?? We all have seen several violations of existing law revealed in Confessional hearing, but no legal action - no indictments followed.

His BF was the one who gave it to the FBI and pushed for an investigation.
Graham purposely slow-walked the investigation to cover for McCain.
I’d tell Graham...”Stop lying to the American People”

Man, and Senator Graham actually said that? He must have skipped his medication.

His minder is dead but still issuing statements like Soviet prime ministers of old, so he's rudderless. Plus, he actually was very conservative at one point way back in the 90's, and it still pops out from time to time, especially as reelection rolls around.

That’s his way of ‘playing both sides’ just to attempt to stay ‘relevant’ in his own world. John McCain also used the say ‘playbook’. Another one who does that is Paul Ryan.

There were three versions of the Steel memorandum (it ain't a "dossier") floating around, so which version was used when getting the FISA warrant?

Probably cherry picked bits out of each one.

Ok now that Linda said this Trump can fire Rosenweasel for knowingly misleading (Wink, wink) a FISA judge and Graham will be fine with it...right?

Shouldn’t Congress bring the judge into testify as to why he or she hasn’t made contempt of court charges?

“Shouldn’t Congress bring the judge into testify as to why he or she hasn’t made contempt of court charges?”

I’d bet the “Judge” knew it was BS but they were careful not to expose the Judge. If the Judge had a shred of integrity the contempt charges would have been filed at least 6 months ago.
