'Russian election hack impossible': NSA veteran & whistleblower
RT America ^ | Nov 3, 2017 | William Binney, former NSC expert

Posted on 07/18/2018 4:54:57 PM PDT by raiderboy

NSA veteran and whistleblower Bill Binney says that it is technically impossible for Russia to have hacked the election and that behind-the-scenes forces within the US have fabricated the “Russian hackers” narrative from the very beginning.

Yet you refuse to suggest any caution to FreeRep readers about using RT as a source.

I didn't see you refuse to suggest child pedophilia as being a bad thing on this thread, do you support child pedophilia?

At the urging of President Donald Trump, CIA Director Mike Pompeo met last month with a former U.S. intelligence official who advocates a fringe theory that the hack of the Democrats during the election was an inside job and not the work of Russian intelligence, the former official told NBC News.

“They have never been specific about how the Russians meddles. Obama stated there was no way they could alter the election.”

I have no idea what the meddling consisted of. It’s logical to conclude that our intelligence/FBI have been conspiring against Trump.

that is a bomb shell , not covered by the left, rino press, let me repost you awesome post because this VALIDATES my post.
“CIA Director Mike Pompeo met late last month with a former U.S. intelligence official who has become an advocate for a disputed theory that the theft of the Democratic National Committee’s emails during the 2016 presidential campaign was an inside job, rather than a hack by Russian intelligence.

Pompeo met on October 24 with William Binney, a former National Security Agency official-turned-whistleblower who co-authored an analysis published by a group of former intelligence officials that challenges the U.S. intelligence community’s official assessment that Russian intelligence was behind last year’s theft of data from DNC computers. Binney and the other former officials argue that the DNC data was “leaked,” not hacked, “by a person with physical access” to the DNC’s computer system.

... like Scooby and those meddling kids?

It is something I always laugh and also get aggravated about. Everytime the MSM reports on ‘meddling’ Russia stuff. They can’t tell us a CRIME that was committed? Hacked? How hacked? Can they tell us what kind of HACK, what exactly was hacked and how? And if a crime was committed, why are they saying meddling? They are trying to confuse on purpose. Just like ‘collusion’.

Binney didn't say anything different than I and others said immediately following the "Crowdstrike" report release months and months ago that it was impossible for the DNC "hack" to be anything other than an inside job because of the data transfer rates going steeply downhill once the connection goes offshore and across the atlantic ocean.

The information Binney presents is meaningless. In this interview Binney admits that the files he analyzed to determine the transmission throughput rates were sourced from the internet. He also says that they were placed on the internet by Guccifer2. In light of those facts, the timestamps on the files (and hence the calculated transmission rates) can not be trusted to show anything other than what Guccifer2 wanted them to show.

The only fact that can be gleaned from Binney's statements is that he lied by omission. He knowingly withheld pertinent information about how the unknown provenance of the files he used in his analysis invalidates his conclusions. He is a former NSA Technical Director. He wasn't making a mistake in that interview, he was lying.

Maybe someday a majority of people will figure out that everything that comes from the justice system now is lie. FBI, DOJ, OIG... They don’t exist for justice. They exist to perpetrate a narrative. The guilty are innocent, and the innocent are guilty. That is how Clinton, Comey, McCabe, and the whole bunch get off free. These officials can make up any story about anything they want and most of the dumb sheeple believe it. Lately as we have had decisions by the OIG we are able to figure out hat even Trump has not been able to put a stop to any of it.

>>Why post a Russian News story as truth?<<

So you have somehow ascertained with certainty that all Russian news stories are untruthful? Please tell us how you managed to do that.

I don’t understand why any Freeper does not think as I do about the unreliability of the DOJ, the FBI, and the entire intelligence community.

Almost as bad as the legitimacy of using statements by the big dogs at the DOJ and the FBI isn’t it?

>> I would propound that RT America is far more reliable than CNN. Wouldn’t you?<<

I certainly don’t believe RT could possibly be any LESS reliable than the fake news media in this country, which of course includes all the alphabet media, the NYT and the WAPO.

This story by Binney and others has been published by many other outlets over the past couple of years. Additionally, you can find interviews by Binney on Youtube, Caravan to Midnight, etc. The RT story is valid but a couple of years late.

because of the data transfer rates going steeply downhill once the connection goes offshore and across the atlantic ocean.

That's not really true

I realize that is latency not throughput but throughput is similar.

The essence of his argument is about data transfer speed. Specifically On the evening of July 5, 2016, 1,976 megabytes of data were downloaded from the DNC’s server. The operation took 87 seconds. This yields a transfer rate of 22.7 megabytes per second.

He and others argue that's not possible. But it is easily doable from one data center to another almost any decently connected country. Their argument relied on data rates to residential users, but those are obviously slower. I just tested and downloaded a 1GB file to my server in 30 seconds (33 Mb/sec) The file came from thinkbroadband.com which is in the UK and my server is in NJ.
