I hope this gets done. Hat tip: Steve Sailer.

Why would we need Meheeco to go along with a policy if we decide to adopt it. And doesn’t Canada already have this policy ?

So, I guess this means that the new Mexican president was rallying his base but actually knows what would happen if he tried to send all of his country to Yanqui Land.

It would definitely help. This is about people who transit through Mexico, which actually maintains a very strict southern border of its own but has been letting people enter through it if they say they are going to the US. It also means stopping the smugglers (many of them connected with the Cuban government) who bring in people from outside of Latin America, mostly the ME and Asia, and drop them off in Mexico where they are allowed to proceed to the US border.

The whole situation is out of control, and one of the things that caused it is grandstanding Mexican politicians (not all of them leftwing by any means) who have always relied on anti-Americanism as a device to distract from their own failings and a platform to stand on before their voters. This is the case even when it means shooting themselves in the foot by destabilizing - even more - their own country by admitting and sending hordes of “asylum seekers” through Mexico to the US.

Notice the “activists” never like solutions, always want to perpetuate problems. God forbid someone not enter the United States illegally.

Talks like these are common sense on steroids. Which basically is the doctrine of President Trump. God bless him!

"..many of the migrants are fleeing widespread gang violence and could be exposed to danger in Mexico.."

And according to some of that same lot of "human rights activists", we're all buncha racist Nazi's.

Mebbe those "migrants" should stay put and improve their lot. d;^)

Logic: Mexico might have a better chance at stopping its drug cartel and human trafficking problems if its criminal class couldn’t easily get in and out of the US.

The proposed agreement has divided the Mexican government and alarmed human rights activists who maintain that many of the migrants are fleeing widespread gang violence and could be exposed to danger in Mexico.

We wonder how many of the alarmed human rights activists are addressing the widespread gang violence in the home countries of the migrants.

Would it not be better to instill human rights in the home countries so the people would not have to leave?

This is worth discussing—especially if we have less pleasant options to offer the Mexicans if they don’t agree... :-)

(did I hear “no more foreign aid”, did I hear “US troops crossing Mexican border”—yup, I thought I did... :-) )

"It would allow U.S. border guards to turn back such asylum seekers at border crossings and quickly return to Mexico anyone who has already entered illegally seeking refuge, regardless of their nationality."

That's fine. My only question is how much is this going to cost the American tax payer? You just know those looters running Mexico wont do it unless there's a hefty bribe involved.

If the Europeans want to build migrant screening and processing camps in Africa- it makes big sense for us to want the same in Mexico

Makes sense to me...but have to be skeptical the way DC works...Why would we do something that made sense?
