UK reportedly tells Trump he cannot meet with Brexit architect Nigel Farage

The U.K. government has reportedly told President Trump he must not meet Brexit architect and former U.K. Independence Party leader Nigel Farage when Trump visits the U.K. later this month.

The U.K. Daily Telegraph, citing a source within the British government, reports that 10 Downing Street made it clear that Trump “must not meet Farage” during his working visit to the U.K. on July 13. Trump has embraced Farage, who is also a Fox News contributor, and called him “the man behind Brexit” during the 2016 campaign.

Farage told Fox News he would not comment on any conversations he had with the White House but said the Telegraph report was “utterly consistent” with past behavior from the U.K. government.

He is the President of the United States and not a British subject and Nigel is not a serf and if they want to meet, they should damn well meet.

He should meet with Nigel Farage, Tommy Robinson, and Julian Assange. Let’s see if the UK is a police state. I wonder if the president will kowtow to them.

How deep does this conspiracy go in the attempt to get rid of Trump? It’s not just the DNC and Hillary. Obviously the Brits, the Russians and assorted other foreign players are involved too. I think we all kind of knew that anyways. Look at how hostile Teresa May and Frau Merkel are to him.

If the UK has gone police state, then Brexit is a sham and the Red Tories will continue to do the will of Brussels and Berlin against the will of their own people.

These recurring and troubling infringements on free speech and civil liberties in Britain are happening under a Tory government. Can’t imagine what it would be like when Labor comes to power. Doubt Churchill would recognize modern Britain.

There are unwritten rules about state visits, which are usually precisely choreographed events.

To depart from the agenda... Well, it just isn't done.

Trump can invite Farage to the White House.

not sure i believe this, but if true then white house should counter with one or more of the following:

1. cancel UK visit.

2. announce before visit that Nigel has been invited to the White House.

3. Put preconditions on who PM can and cannot meet with when visiting the U.S.

4. meet with Nigel in the U.K. anyway.

You can’t order a foreign head of state around like that. Not unless you’re looking to create a diplomatic row.

Trump will meet with whoever he wants to meet with! Nigel has his own show, and they could meet this way, if they wanted to. Nigel and Trump will talk to each other plenty of times, and nobody can stop them.

Invite Nigel to the White House.

Maybe they should meet at the US Embassy. Isn’t that considered US territory? I wonder if that would torque their jaws? 😁

Trump should invite Nigel to DC and give him a State reception. And that’s before he leaves for the UK.
