Want to freak out a Commie..tell them that abortion will FINALLY be abolished if we get our pick in, Ive been waiting a long time for abortion to finally be abolished, maybe now we have a chance

Sarah - I hate to break it to you, but when Roe v Wade gets overturned, it won't abolish abortion at all. Far from it. Technically, R v W was about federalism - basically saying the federal govt takes precedence over the state.

So, when the ruling gets over turned, it just means that state laws become operative and last I read, about half the states have laws on the books allowing abortion, so much won't change.

I assume when the yelling stops, states such as Idaho, Utah and most southern states will outlaw abortion, but most of the coastal states will allow it (which is where most of the people live), Illinois, all of New England, Mich, etc will allow abortion.

But at least, we can vote against those state politicians that refuse to change the law, etc.
