A senior White House official says President Trump will push for the swift confirmation of a Supreme Court justice "before the midterm elections."

A list of well-established conservatives is in place, so a nomination is expected to come "within weeks," the official said.

I presume this Senate will reject any qualified nominee, and that it will be THE central issue in a lot of Senate races in November.

No Republicans voted against Gorsuch, though Isackson of Georgia didn't vote for some reason.

How Senators Voted on the Gorsuch Confirmation

"Ds can’t make that decision."

Not by themselves of course.

However, the way the Senate "functions", coupled with only a 51 vote majority for the (R)'s and that too many of those (R)'s are fairly liberal to begin with...
and it becomes a distinct reality that the (D)'s coupled with some (R)'s either (1) let it be known they will not consent to any SCOTUS nominee other than a "moderate" "consensus" pick and/or (2) delay any nominee vote until after the fake Russia Gate "investigation" is complete.

They put up a mild to moderate fight for Gorsuch knowing that it was a Conservative for a Conservative seat.

Thought it was tough getting judges confirmed to the lower courts? We aint seen nothing yet.

We must all be prepared to push our Senators to act on Trumps quick nomination.

Cram the judge through. There’s a great chance we lose the house so it’s now or never. Do it while the economy is red hot.

It’s a good thing, and probably no coincidence that McConnell cancelled the August recess.

The perfect storm...

As I've been saying... There are two absolutes in American politics:

  1. Republicans will do something so stupid as to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
  2. Democrats will do something so overreaching as to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
It's going to be a race to see who can out-stupid the other.

Will McConnell play calendar and rules games with the nomination?

Will Collins and Flake side with Democrats against Trump?

Will Manchin and other desperate Democrats support Trump in a Hail Mary attempt to save their reelections?

Will Maxine Waters incite the left to such extremes that they turn voters away from Democrats?

Will Schumer and Pelosi go full #Resistance and push voters towards Trump?

Stay tuned...

There were a plethora of reasons to elect Trump and deny the Klinton dynasty but one of the most important may have been the Supreme Court. By now, Klinton would have two picks and one on the way.

A 4-4 court is setting you up for a lot of lower court BS to try and further stall and derail items like the travel ban and immigration.

SCOTUS is in recess until October.

SCOTUS is in recess until October.

Ugh. How does that stop the lower courts from legislating immigration law from the bench? *NO ONE* has answered that question despite having posted it several times on different threads today. I would love to hear the answer.

If Ginsburg also leaves the Court this term...Trump should nominate the most conservative replacement he can find for Kennedy.

If it get blocked by RINOs then just leave the Court 4-3. LOL
