The AP article that Biesecker co-authored is deliberately misleading.
“In court filings, lawyers for the detention facility have denied all the allegations of physical abuse detailed in the lawsuit, which span from 2015 to 2018.”
This is either a typo (unlikely) or false, because it suggests that the alleged abuses happened in 2018, as well as 2015, 2016, and 2017. The article specifically refers to the filings which were dated October 4, 2017.
So my guess is that the authors purposely used 2018 to indicate that Trump is mostly responsible for these abuses, that started under Obama. They don’t really give a damn about the kids, just that Trump is blamed for them.
For Biesecker to Twitter and to call this breaking news when it happened in October of last year is disingenuous at best.
