It is often said that Washington, DC is filled with a bunch of nerds dominated by psychopaths. Others say that politics is simply Hollywood for ugly people. These are usually said in a joking manner and often uttered after coming back from a young professional happy hour here in the swamp. Perhaps the most soulless congregation of folks ever assembled can be found at those kind of events.
A report conducted by Ryan Murphy at Southern Methodist University found that Connecticut contained the most psychopaths per capita followed quickly by California. New Jersey and New York followed next. But our nation's capital by far had the highest level of psychopathic behavior than anywhere in the country.
As Newsmax notes, “Added in the study was Washington, D.C., which ‘had a psychopathy level far higher' than any state, according to the report – albeit because it is a small, entirely urban area and not as geographically diverse as a state. "The presence of psychopaths in District of Columbia is consistent with the conjecture found in Murphy [2016] that psychopaths are likely to be effective in the political sphere," Murphy concluded in his study. Pychopaths/sociopaths in D.C. What a surprise.
I’ve been saying this here at FR for years. New England, esp. Connecticut and Rhode Island, then Massachusetts (a real “red” state), are the worst though Vermont was filling up with Marxists in the early 1970’s. NY - what else would you expect? Just look at their recent mayors. Nuff Said.
California is just one big insane asylum, followed by Seattle and Portland.
And the biggest concentration of psychopaths per square mile in the US is found in the Democrat Party members of Congress. I’ve worked there. As Rush would say, “Don’t doubt me on this”.
As for psychopaths in the news media, try MSNBC and CNN, followed by CBS, NBC and ABC. As a former card carrying journalist, I can also vouch for this. Examples: Maddow; Olberman, O’Donnell, Matthews, Cuomo jr., Nicole Wallace, Joy Reid, Don Lennon, Van Jones, Al Sharpton, etc.
They make Charlie Manson sound sane and that takes some doing.
The mainstream media were somewhat misleading about the District of Columbia in that report. It was, in fact, at that top of the list. The mainstream media overemphasized the report’s statement that “inclusion” “in future research” “should be done with care.”

My guess is that sociopaths outnumber the psychopaths, especially in the upper echelons.

Forgot about that aspect. Good point. Although I’m not entirely certain that isn’t more sociopathic than psychopathic, as per my limited understanding of the two terms.

A first-of-its-kind analysis ranking state-level estimates of psychopathy across the continental United States and the District of Columbia has found Washington DC harbours the highest concentration of psychopaths in the whole country.

Because the Left would never want to confess that certain racial groups do things that tend to bring their own problems on. Well, except whites. Those get blamed everywhere.
