Truth, Veritas, and Knowledge of History in the U.S.

Did you say Americans, some adults as well as many snowflakes, have got a lot to learn? Many studies have made us aware of the civic ignorance, and the historical amnesia of citizens in the U.S. Though Thomas Jefferson is often incorrectly quoted as the author of an axiom about this, it is still true that an informed citizenry on historical matters is a crucial requisite for a democratic society. Evidence is abundant that it is time for U.S. citizenry to use their mentality and wake up to reality.

For many, the past is a wasteland. One third of students consulted in a survey did not know that D-Day occurred during World War II, and 15% thought it happened in Pearl HaRbor. Less than half knew that Franklin Delano Roosevelt was president during the war. In April 2018, 41% could not identify Auschwitz as a Nazi concentration or extermination camp, and 66% of Millennials could not do so. More than 11% of adults, and 22% of Millennials, had not heard of the Holocaust.

Judging by this piece, it seems clear to me the reason "they" feel comfortable reverting to Godwins Law(hitler references) and also calling certain groups fascists while in fact THEY are the ones acting like fascists. Just the way the left wants it. Screw history, it can't teach you anything so you may as well ignore it.

Not to mention that history text books are hideous. They turn people off. People think history is incredibly dull because historians deliberately avoid its more fascinating and awesome aspects.

I didn’t click on the article, but Ann Coulter helped debunk the lies about McCarthy in heavily footnoted ‘Treason’.

Further, I recommend the History Channel’s ‘Secrets of War’, especially ‘The Hunt for Atomic Secrets’ and the ‘Cambridge Five’.

We WERE infiltrated. Heavily. And Democrats [as well as UK Progressives] were so grossly cavalier about it that we let Stalin get the bomb!

Personally, however, I think that South Vietnam needed a more respected leader.

A subtle but accursed transition occurred in the 70s in education in the US. it was the institutionalization of PC thought. Overnight it became irresponsible to talk about anything the new left deemed unacceptable. A guardian was put at the gate to the mind of young people. It prevented open discussion on any topic and the inculcation of moral bromides. Education became thought control. Children through grad school were taught not how to think but what to think. It was the penultimate assault on freedom by global fascism. It sought the end of freedom of thought. This principle remains the single guiding light of progressive politics and multinational globalism. The very act of thinking is revolutionary. This is the revolution spearheaded by our beloved president, Donald J Trump. It is the one most bitterly opposed by the talking heads in the media and the rabble rousers in the Democrat party.
