The Southern Poverty Law Center helps Facebook, Amazon, Google and Twitter determine what organizations are “hate groups”
Amazon gave the SPLC the most direct authority while pretending to remain unbiased
The SPLC has been plagued by inaccuracies
Four of the world’s biggest tech platforms have working partnerships with a left-wing nonprofit that has a track record of inaccuracies and routinely labels conservative organizations as “hate groups.”
Facebook, Amazon, Google and Twitter all work with or consult the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in policing their platforms for “hate speech” or “hate groups,” a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found.
The SPLC is on a list of “external experts and organizations” that Facebook works with “to inform our hate speech policies,” Facebook spokeswoman Ruchika Budhraja told TheDCNF in an interview.
Facebook consults the outside organizations when developing changes to hate speech policies, Budhraja said, noting that Facebook representatives will typically hold between one and three meetings with the groups.
Citing privacy concerns, the Facebook spokeswoman declined to name all the outside groups working with Facebook, but confirmed the SPLC’s participation.
Budhraja emphasized that Facebook’s definition of “hate group” is distinct from the SPLC’s definition and said that Facebook consults with groups across the political spectrum.
The SPLC accused Facebook in a May 8 article of not doing enough to censor “anti-Muslim hate” on the platform. That article did not disclose the SPLC’s working partnership with Facebook.
“We have our own process and our processes are different and I think that’s why we get the criticism [from the SPLC], because organizations that are hate organizations by their standards don’t match ours,” Budhraja said.

The SPLC is a hate group that probably considers the Free Republic community a hate group.
SPLC is not merely “left-wing”. It is demagogic and fascist, and is given WAY too much authority!!!
The SPLC should NOT be allowed to label any organization as a “hate group”. Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. need to DELETE their account PERMANENTLY!!!!

Why in the hell are these organizations allowing subjective judgement calls on socially and political questions to be answered by private or 3rd party organizations that can clearly be shown to have specific social and political activist positions?
Anyone who believes they have been censored by this process needs to sue. The discovery process and subpoenas should shine some light on the murky hidden underbelly of the subjective social activism involved and make a good case for discrimination among other things. Lots of good potential $$$ in punitive awards
Let’s STOP feigning surprise about this incestuous relationship between social media and the democrat socialists. That is what and who they are. They are becoming more bold about declaring this loyalty.

If there are any wealthy conservatives who truly give a damn, they need to develop and cultivate other social media outlets that are either more impartial or supportive of conservative points of view. Until then, you are free to take your chances. Face it, we are not going to consistently receive fair treatment from these zombified, torch carrying mobsters. They openly disrespect us because they can get away with it, and it feels so good.

The SPLC has been a money grubbing racket for many years and Morris Dees who started it is a shady character. It slaps a racist or Nazi name on a lot of groups that are in no way deserving of such labels. The SPLC does fundraising by painting these falsely accused groups as bad so those who think the SPLC is on the level send in contributions. The contributions are mostly sucked up by Dees and his crew as overhead and salary, not going out to make the society better. The guys in charge are mostly white guys Dees likes and few minorities or women actually are employed by Dees.
SPLC needs to be labeled a terrorist organization and a RICO violation. Way past time the sh*t was beaten out of that hate spreading organization.

The SPLC is a Leftist Hate Group and it’s leader Morris Deas is a pervert.
Clearly it’s time for federal antitrust action against Google, Facebook and Twitter. It’s also time to stop subsidizing Amazon via favorable tax treatment and the US post.
This calls for a Congressional investigation.
