Parents face charge after giving teen marijuana to treat alleged seizures
Fox News ^ | June 1st, 2018 | By Alexandria Hein

A Georgia family has been torn apart after authorities placed a 15-year-old teen in a group home following a tip from his therapist that his parents gave him marijuana in an effort to control his seizures.

David Brill, whose parents Suzeanna and Matthew spent six days in jail after their arrest, allegedly suffers from near-constant seizures.

The couple maintains that marijuana kept him seizure-free for 71 days, until Twiggs County sheriff’s deputies knocked on their door and told them to stop. The couple said they obliged, only for Brill’s seizures to return just hours later.

“Within 14 hours of complying we were rushing our son to the hospital,” Suzeanna Brill told The New York Times. “And it was one of the most horrific seizures I’ve ever seen.”

In April, Brill was taken into custody by the state Department of Family and Children Services following an order from a juvenile court judge. He has been separated from his service dog, and is only allowed to communicate with his parents through phone calls and short visits, 13WMAZ.com reported.

In early May, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed a bill that adds PTSD and intractable pain to a list of medical conditions that are eligible to be treated with cannabis oil. Late-stage cancer patients and those suffering from seizure disorders are also eligible to seek cannabis oil treatment, but state law still bans growing, buying or transporting marijuana.

Freepers always think cops won’t do bad shit like door to door gun seizures or Tommy Robinson stuff or cattle car roundups to camps here

Think again

Especially if there is money to grab

“It’s getting to the point where I won’t be surprised when it is President Trump himself who signs the law decriminalizing marijuana.”

I believe he said he would do just that.

Utah will probably legalize medical mj in Nov. Polls show support in the mid-70s. Oklahoma will also be voting on mmj at the end of this month. It’s a little iffier for OK, but its support is in the high 50s.

20 posts so far and no Drug Warrior has shown up to deride the State of Georgia for not having a public hanging of these people.

That’s progress folks. This is the most conservative environment in the nation.

As the population ages, with so many more people sick and in real pain, seeing what Big Pharma’s poison pills have done to wreck so many lives, I think the general population is having a Great Awakening wrt the whole raw deal which has been perpetrated against them. At least I hope so.

Marinol is made from a very low THCA cannabis

CBD can be made from any MJ

The therapist is the one who should be in jail. And how is it legal to separate this boy from his service dog?

Kind of like abortion for mental distress or emotional health.

I was kidding

I did smoke pot daily from 1971-1984 and 90/91

I liked it and functioned fine

But I have seen my share for couch lock folks

To me from experience it’s far less an issue than booze

Marijuana is easily abused though and it’s hard to tell a stoner to tighten up because they do function albeit at less than capabilities

I have pals who did over 20 calendars federal prison for large scale pot smuggling no guns

That to me is a shame ..a pox on out justice system as is asset forfeiture without trail

Again this are my opinions borne from experiences

I’ve had stoners and drunks in my family and besties

I know which is worse

Pot does help with seizures...no question

Sorry Laura Ingraham. ..I love you but all pot smokers are not the Dartmouth hippies who picked on you

You’re right about the CBD; but wrong to imply that smoking is the only way to injest THC.

Georgia law allows for use of oil in epilepsy cases. It must be prescribed

Prescription oils are allowed but you have to get a doctor involved

It’s stupid. Smoking does not give a set dose age and requires one to break the law.

Doctors can provide a prescription for oils. They can also prescribe marinol

No just plain no

There were several ways IF these idiots used a doctor to get either marinol or oil.

You break the law you go to jail
