I’ve been considering an eerily sobering concept of late, and that’s the possibility that the entertainment media is influencing Americans even more and even more insidiously than the extent to which savvy folks like you and I are already aware.
Most of us who have either drastically curtailed or eliminated our exposure to network television (and even cable TV in many cases) recognize the fact that this medium has become a pernicious propaganda mill and social-engineering platform. That said, what I plan to discuss here goes beyond the boilerplate leftist doctrine (man-made climate change is real, homosexuality is wonderful and half of America is gay, Christians and conservatives are stupid and intolerant, Muslims are peaceful, etc.) with which we are already familiar.
Specifically, I’d like to focus on a phenomenon that may appear quite innocuous as enshrouded in its entertainment value, but which could be far more malignant than the above referenced liberal tripe. If the postulation which follows is in any measure accurate, the future our socialist overlords envision for average Americans is a great deal darker than most of us can imagine.

A shame the Chicoms haven’t made good on their threat to Hollywood.
It was pretty obvious even then, that American popular ‘culture’ was vomit.
That is - no radio, tv, magazines, films.... none of it.
Whenever I run into that stuff I am always amazed at just how far it has descended since then. Incredible depths of smut and violence passing for entertainment.
After all, if Hollywood is in the business of winning hearts and minds apropos the normalcy of androgyny, the reality of anthropogenic climate change and the like, why wouldn’t it be reasonable to surmise that they might be preparing Americans for a time in which we are ruled by ruthless elite degenerates, clawing desperately through the wreckage of a global nuclear exchange, fleeing cannibalistic hordes, or devastated by an engineered biological plague?
One question: Why would Hollywood (or "The Elite," or the "Lords of the New Order," etc.) have to "prepare" us peons for the coming hoards of zombies?
Why would they want us to be (mentally, emotionally, physically, etc.) prepared to "claw desperately through the wreckage?"
What would they have to gain? What would they have to lose if we were "unprepared?"

I don’t think this is such a novel phenomenon. Dystopian fiction has been around for at least a century and consistently growing in popularity. The only thing new is that we are seeing it more often on television nowadays.
I don’t think this is so much a symptom of some elites trying to “groom” us as it is a subconscious expression of peoples’ reaction to the modern world and fears about the direction it is heading. You can see this by looking at what the main elements of the dystopia are in each era. Around WWII, the main dystopian scenario was a fascist or authoritarian government. During the Cold War, post-nuclear apocalyptic scenarios were common. After the oil crisis in the 70s, we saw dystopias focused on society running out of natural resources. Nowadays, in the “climate change” paranoia era, it is common to see dystopias caused by some environmental catastrophe.
These are simply a new form of myths or fairy tales that we construct, where the dystopia takes the place of the mythical monster as the antagonist. Whatever the current fears lurking in the minds of our society, that is the form that the monster will reflect. This happens in non-Western societies as well, as you can see Japan’s post WWI fears about the consequences of the atomic bombs dropped on them expressed in their nuclear-powered Godzilla monster movies. We humans just tend to take our fears and put them into our creative works, perhaps as a way of confronting them and getting some catharsis.
I think it boils down to acceptance of “normal” things. Which are not normal to free thinking people. But, the indoc leads some to adjust what’s “normal”.
All they care about is money and the next movie part. They are not smart enough to think anything through.. they don’t have any morals, and no conscience... just money and fame.
If there are one or two who scored high on a smart test, that is below the line of importance.. they shed any of that for a nude shot or hard movie that pays them well.
The Grace Kelley’s, Jimmy Stewarts ... are a thing of the past. They, at least, didn’t parade their low lives in public, and kept their political views to themselves.
Also, when we entered WWII, many Hollywood stars volunteered for service.
Hollywood has kowtowed to the Chinese. The Martian, The Great Wall, Arrival....The Chinese are leveraging our entertainment industry to legitimize their propaganda of a beneficent force.
Art is a concretization of a person's metaphysics and sense of life. If the writer has a sense of life of the uselessness of reason and the helplessness of man, if he believes that man is a puppet controlled by his environment, and is not responsible for the consequences of his own actions, then he not able to use reason, and is helpless to do what he needs to do to achieve happiness and the good life.
Sounds about right. Indoctrinate the public to what they want the ‘new normal’ to be then lead the lemmings anywhere they want.
When it comes to the cancerous left; those vermin are capable of the most unimaginable atrocities. We would do well to be prepared to kill them if need be when the time comes. You can bet they are.
