Russian Defector Gave Novichok Sample To Germany In 90s: Report

Germany's intelligence service BND had in the 1990s obtained from a Russian informer a sample of the poison used against ex-double agent Sergei Skripal, German media reported Thursday, drawing a link to Moscow as the origin of the toxin.

Britain has accused Russia of carrying out the nerve agent attack against Skripal and his daughter Yulia in March, but Moscow has denied the claims and argued that the country never had any programmes to develop the chemical weapon, known as Novichok.

But German newspapers Sueddeutsche Zeitung and Die Zeit as well as regional public broadcasters NDR and WDR said their research showed that a Russian scientist had in the 1990s offered to provide information about the new class of chemical weapon that his country was developing.

In exchange for his and his family's safety, the scientist offered to obtain a sample and its formula for Germany.

The offer put Germany in a dilemma as it was obliged to adhere to international treaties that bans it from producing such weapons of mass destruction.

Eventually, the sample was sent to a Swedish laboratory for analysis, while the BND and Germany's defence ministry took hold of the formula, according to the report.

Under orders from then chancellor Helmut Kohl, the BND shared the information with its closest allies, including US and British secret services.

Now, they need to see if it matches up with that, that was used in England. Putin or someone was in the news in the past few days claiming that if it were military grade, it would have killed Skripal which we know it didn’t.

I trust today’s Brits as much as my American ancestors trusted the Brits before, during and after our revolutionary War.

I sure as hell don’t trust a country that is 138th among 180 nations as Russia is for freedom of the press, can’t even get their athletes in the Olympics to compete because of doping, may have the richest man in the world running the country and unfree elections. A person would have to be a real idiot to trust that nation, but the Russian trolls shovel crap around.

President Putin tried yesterday to use Sergei Skripal’s recovery to cast doubt on Britain’s assertion that Moscow was behind the Salisbury poisoning.

Salisbury District Hospital reported yesterday that he had been discharged. Mr Skripal, 66, a former spy once jailed in Russia for working for MI6, had been in a critical condition for several weeks after he and his daughter, Yulia, 33, were attacked with a novichok nerve agent on March 4.

Maybe it was some amateur operation.

Glad that the visa of one of Russia’s oligarchs, Abramovich may be revoked. No problems for Russian billionaires to try and make money in Great Britain, better than the small businessmen who are jailed for not paying bribes in Russia.

They should kick them all out, for the routine rubbish the Russian trolls tell us. “Oh, how bad Great Britain are, we shouldn’t trust them”.

Well, you sure as hell shouldn't trust America then. Even though we are ranked 45, we should be at the last position, because the news misleadia lies outright and has an omnipresent communist slant.
