Flight 861 was traveling from Denver to Dallas on Saturday night — with 100 passengers on board — when the cabin began to lose pressure at roughly 20,000 feet, according to officials.

Oxygen masks were deployed around 9 p.m. local time, just as the plane was arriving in the DFW area.

They aren’t bad—as sardine cans go... :-(

(Gawd I hate that airline.)

SW may become the first airline to install ejection seats on the flight deck.

The media is just paying attention now to things it ignored before.

I like SouthWest. To have a great record for decades until the previous accident says a lot.

Who is signing for these systems?

A co-worker told me SW farms out their maintenance to someplace in South America.

Not sure if I believe it but who knows these days.

My favorite. I hope the gazelle is OK:

It WAS true. They were doing most of their major repairs in El Salvador but supposedly ended that arrangement at the end of 2017.

I've never heard of many of those airlines. Pretty amazing, but it had one entry about an aborted take-off because of a gazelle strike.

This always happens after a major aircraft accident.

The media reports every incident for that airline for months after making it look incompetent or uncaring. The individual stories aren't necessarily false, but the impression given is.

From the story:“When you’re in the air 20,000 feet above the ground and don’t know what’s going on it’s not uneventful,” explained Eichelberger.

'So quit flying the airplane and tell us what is happening that we won't understand anyway."

Yep.

Southwest has the best safety record in the US and probably msot of the world but a couple incidents and OMG!

I fly SW constantly, they don’t lose my bags, are seldom late, and never hassle me about checking firearms.

Can’t say that for ANY other US airline.

5000+ flights in the US and we are bound to find out flaws the hard way.

Passenger strips and runs up aisle

http://www.foxnews.com/travel/2018/05/15/passenger-strips-naked-on-alaska-airlines-flight-runs-up-aisle-report-says.html

And it happens all over the world, even on Airbus planes.

Sichuan Airlines Pilot Sucked Halfway out Cockpit Window

I have personally been on a WN flight that lost air pressure. Great pilots brought it down textbook safe.

Yup Southwest is the best of the bunch as far as I’m concerned and often has the lowest prices. Also they only fly 737s not some of the awful puddle jumpers I’ve been stuck on on other airlines
