The recent video of the NY Port Authority Commisioner playing that card, unsuccessfully, when her kid got pulled over, is an instant classic.

Of course she’s a Dem activist, raised a lot of money for HRC, etc.
The difference, that many people are keenly aware of, is between the treatment this kid received and the treatment any one of us would have received, both at the hands of the police and the hands of the media reporting it. That is the point. If the kid’s dad was a Republican mayor, this would be front page news with the R splashed everywhere. If it were any other kid without a mayor for a dad, the kid would be in jail nursing a serious ass-beating.

Also, my filter for “good place” is strictly pro GOP pro-Trump or pro-Dem voting. Makes it sort of easy. It’s called prejudice and bias and that’s me all over. I haven’t looked up the demographics and voting records.

Got a buddy on the Aurora PD. Pretty sure they know who the leak was and the Chief will have to suspend them for a few days. I expressed nothing but support for the leaker, but also understand (though do not like) the political necessity for the suspension.
Mayor Hancock is widely dis-liked but plays the game extremely well. Worst kind of ‘tic.

In my part of the world, the suburb cities aren’t generally too impressed with the governance of the central cities.
When someone asks do you know who I am, I immediately give them a stroke test and offer to call 911 for a person who is not oriented or able to self identify
