The number of illegal border crossers in Canada will soon surpass the 25,000 Syrian refugees Canada accepted in 2016
In this Aug. 7, 2017 file photo, a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer informs a migrant couple of the location of a legal border station, shortly before they illegally crossed from Champlain, N.Y., to Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle, Quebec, using Roxham Road.
Authorities say more than 80 percent of the 4,000 migrants who crossed into Quebec recently are from Haiti, and the rest include people from India, Mexico, Colombia and Turkey.AP Photo/Charles Krupa, There are so many Mounties needed to process illegal border crossings in rural Quebec that the federal government is now spending $250,000 to build an unofficial police station on the U.S. border. In Toronto last week, Mayor John Tory announced that the number of refugee claimants in the citys shelter system has quadrupled from 459 per night in 2016 to an average of 2,351 in 2018......

I put on TV last night for a few minutes, searching for a rare TV show that entertains (Twilight Zone specifically). I came across a late night talk show with the actor who played in the Austin Powers movies. He discussed the death of his “Mini me” co-star. He said “I went to the White House...Obama’s White House (with a smile)...” and at that point the audience got giddy. He followed with a mention of how he is Canadian and “Prime Minister Trudeau...” Perhaps the audience is young and unaware of events, perhaps it is limited to equal pay and abortion types, but the way they cheered for Obama and Trudeau was embarrassing. The left really does feel before it thinks.
Some of those bags still have tags from recent airline flights. It looks like they flew on commercial flights from Haiti to NYC and then drove Upstate and across the Canadian border.
The couple being held up by the police officer appears to be quite affluent by Haitian standards (look at the womans hair and their outfits, although the guy probably bought his fancy red New York cap from a NYC street vendor), and my guess is that they want to move to Quebec (where their fluency in French will help them fit in better than in the U.S.) and its easier to get a tourist visa from the U.S., fly to JFK, drive across the Canadian border and claim refuge than it is to try to get a visa to move to Canada.
Canada starts screaming for the US to build a wall in...3...2...1
There’s a taxi service that is based right next to this crossing. Check out Faith Goldy’s expose’ from a couple years ago. The taxi service survives on traffic from the bus station to this border crossing.
Yes, tell them they’re going to a detention center (...in Alberta).
“We’re here! Take care of us!”
“You can’t cross here legally, but you can cross over there illegally”.
Mexico shuttles Central Americans to the US border, and we shuttle Hatians to the Canadian border. One caravan is low tech busses & hitching, the other is high tech, via commercial airlines.
An *unofficial* police station?!?!
If it's being built by the federal government (presumably with government money), how the heck can it be *unofficial*?
I saw that, too. What sort of refugee is kitted to the nines like that? Perhaps they were gifts from some organization?
Were topped up. Lets watch as the loving, noble, accepting, moral, and compassionate Canadians show us how its done.
An amazing analysis, Holmes!
*unofficial* means “off the record” so we do not expect the government of Canada to talk about it at all, Its the product of using Her Majesty as a blanket to cover up the details of what is going on. In the USA it would be a right for the public to know, but in Canada its a privilege, a privilege denied.
Nothing to see here so move along!/S
Elementary, my dear Brady. : )
