Giuliani: Trump repaid Cohen $130K for payment to porn star
Yahoo ^ | 5-2-18 | Catherine Lucey and Jill Colvin

In a startling revelation, President Donald Trump's new lawyer said Wednesday that Trump repaid his personal attorney $130,000 in a deal made just before the 2016 election to keep porn star Stormy Daniels quiet about her tryst with the president, directly contradicting Trump's past statements about the hush money.

During an appearance on Fox News Channel's "Hannity," Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani said the money to repay Michael Cohen had been "funneled ... through the law firm and the president repaid it."

Asked if Trump knew about the arrangement, Giuliani said: "He didn't know about the specifics of it, as far as I know. But he did know about the general arrangement, that Michael would take care of things like this, like I take care of things like this for my clients. I don't burden them with every single thing that comes along. These are busy people." Trump told reporters several weeks ago that he didn't know about the payment to Daniels as part of a non-disclosure agreement she signed days before the 2016 presidential election.

Asked aboard Air Force One whether he knew about the payment, Trump said flatly: "No." Trump also said he didn't know why Cohen had made the payment or where he got the money.

That is it. The game is on. Democrats want it and they will have it.

They cannot afford Trump any success. The Plantation cannot keep losing their “workers”.

“I suspect that’s the end of the marriage if he told Melania that all this was untrue.”

If? Are you a soap opera fan or is this wishful thinking?

I have been suspecting for some period of time the poster is a subtle concern troll. This is based on more than 2 or 3 postings, BTW.

They want to try and distract from all the progress President Trump has made. Can you imagine what the news would be like if Obama had made such progress. Trump is doing with NK what no other president has been able to do. So what do the liberals have? Some gutter trash who will do anything for money like getting laid for cash.

If not a “if” by your logic it is more likely that Trump did tell Melania that he paid 130 grand to Stormy! This suspends the natural law of credulity.

I think they are trying to make the case that if Coen paid it it would be an illegal campaign contribution.

You have to wonder where this $130k number came from? By the time that IRS takes their chunk out of this...it’s trimmed down to $100k. She probably flipped the money over to produce another adult-flick in Vegas.

Well, first of all, this doesn’t necessarily mean that there is an admission of the affair. Trump could have given his attorney leeway to deal with situations like this wherein he was accused of something and allowed his attorney to handle it. Even if he was falsely accused, it may be cheaper to do a payoff than have false allegations out in the public sphere and go through litigation.

That said, I assumed he had the affair. We KNEW he had affairs in the past and certainly wasn’t a choir boy. I’m not concerned about what he did 12 years ago, though. I’d be concerned if this was going on in the Oval Office. Honestly, I think it would have been best to just let her go public with the other women during the campaign. They were accusing him of unconsentual acts, but she was accusing him of a one night stand. I don’t believe that would have impacted the election. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think so.

When this came out months ago, though, he should have just told the truth about the affair (if it happened) and the payments. The reality of the situation is that the truth is bound to come out with this stuff, and when it does, then you have to deal with the truth and the cover up. Sometimes the cover up is worse than the matter at hand. It also alleviates all the media hoopla in the long term and her lawyer’s extended publicity tour of the cable networks.

Obviously they had to admit to it, and I think that this was intentional with Giuliani tonight. However, I think the way the White House will have to answer is, did Trump know prior to the election? When did he find out? Did he pay him back for that specifically or did he pay him to handle these sort of things for him?

So I take it you plead soap opera officionado as opposed to wishful thinking.

Thank you for your response.

Zactly

You would think the number to be rounder like 150k or 250k

That number, 130, seems more like a negotiated number for her to STFU so the rest of us can have nice things.

As it, her attorney is so much an attorney as he is a PR man and an agent.

Hell, men are standing in line for hours to see her strip show and she’s doing open again.

Great Schtick/SCHEME to revive her career for a while...
