AMMAN (Reuters) - U.S-backed Syrian Democratic Forces said they expelled had Syrian troops that briefly took control of a string of villages in oil rich areas east of the Euphrates river near the Iraqi border on Sunday.

SDF forces led by the Kurdish YPG militia said they had waged a counter-attack against Syrian troops it said were backed by Russian forces, adding they were driven “far away” from four villages they had seized earlier in the day.

“Our forces regained the initiative,” they said in a statement.

Of course not. These are the original anti assad citizens but more importantly Assad Military deserters that prosecuted the war.

Subsequently, especially after Obama deserted the coalition, the war was taken over by ISIS

Your general ignorance is showing

It would be nice if US backed forces could regain villages seized by the Mexican Army.

We don't all care about what happens in muslim countries, as long as they remove each other from the gene pool.

Thanks. I had hear earlier that it happened.

I’m sure there is still a lot of sour relations since the assault on our forces in Deir Ezzor by the Assad connected forces; when they attacked both US and SDF forces near the refinery.

The true picture of what happened has never been published.

It contained some Wagner contract operators but I suspect a large number of Iranian forces too. Some say the Wagner group did not coordinate with the Russian operation officers. I suspect the Wagner forces contracted directly with the Quds commander and/or Assad. Their losses were very high. The content of Wagner Ops is disputed. Some say 250 Russian nationals dead, others say as few a a dozen Russian nationals (Wagner). My gut tells me the Iranian elements were large.

It is know that the Wagner forces have contracted with Russia, Assad and Iran. So we really don’t know.

I do think this had something to do with Turkey attacking Afrin.

As it stands right now nothing on the southern border except a few hundred. At least 2-thousand US military in Syria.

Can a country’s army “seize” a village that is already within its borders? Soros owned AP...

Not “CIA jihadis”, there are Kurds-they’re quite secular and rather diverse religious wise. In fact, they’ve been FIGHTING the jihadis.

Uh, these are Kurds, not “jihadist head choppers”, that’s the so-called “Free Syrian Army”. The Kurds really don’t have a beef with Assad, they’ve fought the SAA only when they were attacked, and I suspect that Iran probably had much to do with it.

next you‘ll be telling us that these guys are reformed marxist-lennists

and then you‘ll go into painstaking detail that this particular sub-group of tribesmen are not like the other groups which are really bad fellows. BUT your buddies are just great guys who have been misunderstand all these years.
