The Broward Sheriff's Office Deputies Association said a symbolic vote among its members, initiated last week, indicated 534 of 628 officers in the union voted they had no confidence in the sheriff The association, a chapter of the International Union of Police Associations, cited the national criticism surrounding Israel and his office following the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14. Israel, in response to the announcement of a vote, said union boss Jeff Bell was trying "to use the Parkland tragedy as a bargaining tactic to extort a 6.5 percent raise" from the sheriff's office, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel discredited himself with his handling of the Parkland shooting, where he tried to vilify gun owners as a group while heaping credit on himself. Now he faces a no confidence vote from his own deputies. Bell told the newspaper that "amazing leadership starts from the top, and there is no amazing leadership here," adding that members of the union "have displayed great courage to come out and vote under threat of retaliation and reprisal from the sheriff.” Continue Reading Below The sheriff has stood by his leadership of the policing agency and its response to the school shooting, which left 17 people dead. The Sheriff, Scott Israel, problem lies in the hands of the citizens & voters in Broward County Florida. This low life Democrat, Hack, Scott Israel knew exactly that this insane kid was afoot, and he did nothing about it.
That the parents of these slain innocent children and their would be school protector are remaining silent to this aide (Israel) of murder, Israel is both unbelievable & amazing. I guess Debbi Wasserman Schultz has all these fools fooled, that is was the gun that killed their precious kids. No...it was Israel, the school administrators, and, the FBI that aided the killing of these seventeen innocents.

Only an investigation will either dispel or prove that with those policies enforced. Students had all kinds of disciplinary problems (drugs, thefts fights etc) when attending classses there. Were scholastic standards lowered to fit fed DOJ grants ?

THEN they say it has no legal effect.
THEN they repeat Scott Israel’s line about this being merely a dispute that has to do with contract negotiations.
AND the media is RARELY OR NEVER mentioning how TERRIBLE Scott Israel’s leadership was regarding monies for fighting crime ($100 MILLION allegedly never used to harden schools).
His lies and failure at Parkland are NEVER MENTIONED by the Miami media.
Scott Israel, good friend of Debbie Wasserman Schultz, is treated with kid gloves. For some reason, the media in Miami NEVER go after him or the Broward school superintendent Robert Runcie or the Miami schools super Alberto Carvalho.
