I can make an argument that the Internet is broken.... and has been broken for over a decade.

There is a sizeable segment of the internet users who want it to remain a wild west adventure.... because they want unregulated, untraceable mayhem that they can take advantage of. Hackers, spammers, VOIP phone scammers, all of these folks want a wild west environment with no government involvement nor oversight.

There is a competing element that want the government to take it over and control everything.

Got to be a happy medium. The hacking, spamming and VOIP abuses have to be curbed, but big business can’t take over and control everything.

The internet wasn't broken until 2015 when obama and Soros imposed their stupid 400 pages of government regulations and communism they called "net neutrality". That was needed like most need another hole in the ground. Actually for the previous 20 years the internet made most of the information in the world easily accessible for the first time in history to average people that they never had before. there was nothing wrong with the Inernet and in fact grew more and advanced human knowledge , information tech etc. more than anything ever before . so why was this so bad you needed communists like Soros to throw monkey wrenches into it?

But you expect them to run or regulate the free market and all it's moving parts and when technology is increasing exponentially fast in that free market because it is a free market. These government idiots couldn't run a lemonade stand.

This “net neutrality” allowed facebook, google youtube, twitter etc. to keep out competition better so that they could maintain their monopoly and censor the Internet. This was their plan.It's amazing how many conservatives even on this forum were fooled by the propaganda and lies:

No one could complain to the ISPs. Facebook , google , youtube ,amazon,twitter would have a complete monopoly.

Now with net neutrality dead conservatives can build facebook , google, twitter , amazon etc. competing alternatives that don't censor and allow true freedom on the internet something we haven't had since 2015 and allowed facbook , google etc. to keep out competitors.
