I was born and raised in Florida. The state has 67 counties. I can tell you the rest of us would not be the least bit sorry to see Dade, Palm Beach and Broward counties go, secede, slide off into the ocean, whatever. Good riddance. We’ve felt this way for decades.

Same situation in N.Y. NYC and the immediate suburban areas, Nassau, Westchester and Rockland counties, Buffalo and Albany are hopelessly liberal. Those areas make up less than 10% of the state in terms of land mass. The rest of NY is similar to flyover country.
