I wonder what the historical point of view is regarding illegals in the U.S. from Canada’s point of view. Did they condemn us for not accepting them? Did they support immigration law in the U.S.?
When I was a kid, the word “asylum” didn’t mean sneaking into another country to freeload off the taxpayers there.
My personal experience with Quebecois is that once they figure out you’re an American they are OK with you speaking English. But so long as they think you’re an English-speaking Canadian, forget it!
If they Quebecois expect uber-liberal fop Justin Trudeau to life a finger to control immigration, all I can say to them is “Bon chance, mes amis.”
they speak french in montreal not pidgin english
Most of the immigrants don’t speak French, and we know how the Quebecois are about people who don’t speak French.
how many illegals are fleeing Canada seeking asylum in the USA
Actually, by far the largest number of illegals crossing into Quebec are Haitians, whose mother tongue is French. The have used up their amnesty and fear the U.S. will not grant them citizenship.
I'd have to say that fedgov is at fault for that.
The U.S. Constitution: Article 4, Section 4. The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.
Right there in bold print.
