KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Metro DACA students from the Kansas/Missouri Dream Alliance headed to Missouris capital Wednesday to lobby against a budget bill that would terminate in-state tuition rates for undocumented youth with DACA.
It was horrible. I ended up going to the deans office. It got to the point where I really wanted to continue school. I didnt want to drop out or go to another college, but I wasnt able to afford it, said Zaid Consuegra, a dreamer from Mexico City. He came to Kansas City in 1999.
He did not get in-state tuition for his schooling and knows the struggle of not being able to afford his education.
Now, Consuegra said he feels for undocumented youth who might have to pay extra in pursuit of higher education.
I think it is discouraging for someone who is trying to better themselves and be in higher education, Consuegra added. I think its ridiculous to stop people, or students, from higher learning.

Exactly!
We need the ICE quick response team Phone # on speed dial just for self identifying idiots like this.
As you suggest, that is just a portion of the monetary cost that is apparent to most of us. The non-monetary cost, measured in terms of impact to our communities and culture, is quietly staggering.
Rather than the millions of freeloaders who are doing exactly what low-effort freeloaders do, the target out to be the much smaller group of politicians who sit on their hands and ignore the oath they swore to us.
No doubt an effective coalition of all the "border-control"-minded organizations would put some muscle behind today's fragmented face.
Deport these “nightmares”. Deport ALL illegal alien invaders. No exceptions!
If my child goes there legally but from out of state, the idea that my child should pay more in tuition than someone who is there illegally is absurd. It’s also policy among democrats.
But...but....I thought they were in “the shadows?”
One of the many reasons why I despise Mexico and Mexicans. Bunch of arrogant beggars.
LOL! In the first place it's not that easy to be denied acceptance from University of Missouri. I think they accept 75 to 80 percent, if not more. Second, enrollments are way down so that's another indicator that no Dreamer is taking up a spot denied to a legal resident.
The DACA anchor babies have become the special pets of the political elites and the media. Even the language used to describe them is loaded. They're "Dreamers" - meaning that somehow their desires and needs are more worthy and deserving than those of US citizens.
Usually being able to read, write, and otherwise function academically at a high school level is a pre-requisite for admission and graduation at state universities. I doubt that most of these DACA anchor babies are at even an elementary school reading or writing level, so all they’re good for in college is filling affirmative action “minority” quotas.

I feel they are probably as qualified as anyone else-——but do NOT deserve tuition breaks.
