There is ALWAYS an ‘Acting Attorney General’. Firing Sessions would make Rosenstein Acting AG, and on down the pecking order should others quit or be fired.

I would advise the President not to chance it, but instead to name his own Special Counsel as presidents from US Grant to Harry Truman did. And I would advise the President to do so with Congressional leaders and invite them to reauthorize themselves to name a Special Counsel and then to agree with him on a candidate.
That sounds like a sound strategy, but one that should have been done many months ago. Trump hasn’t been getting the best advice, apparently.

Exactly. And notice none of the “true conservatives” in the Senate like Lee, Cruz and Rand are not promising hell to pay should McConnell/Grassley/Graham try to block a POTUS of their own party who is under treasonous assault.
