MSNBC pundit Joy Reid celebrated the holiest day in Christianity by providing a platform to an atheist Trump-hater who trashed Fox News host Laura Ingraham for betraying Jesus.
Thats where we are this Easter morning, liberal activist Frank Schaeffer said on AM Joy. We are in a moment of betrayal of the teaching of Jesus.
Schaeffer made the remarks while responding to Reids question about why President Trump enjoys such tremendous support among evangelical Christians despite all of his flaws.
Thats when Schaeffer, the author of Why I Am An Atheist Who Believes In God, chimed in to trash both Trump and Fox News host Laura Ingraham.
Conservative Roman Catholics like Laura Ingraham look at her, shes a convert to Catholicism and here we are in Holy Week, culminating in Easter, and she chooses this time to mock a teenager who stood up against gun violence, Schaeffer said.
Look at the fall she has taken, now a poster child for imitating Donald Trumps ugly intolerance! Imagine that, in Holy Week. We are in a moment of betrayal of the teaching of Jesus. We have an arrogant president who disrespects people and those who follow him are now imitating this vile behavior in Holy Week.
Schaeffer was referencing a tweet Ingraham had posted where she responded to teen anti-gun activist David Hogg, who lamented that he had been rejected by several colleges.
Ingraham tweeted: Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it. (Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA totally predictable given acceptance rates.)
Hogg who viciously trashes conservative teens and adults on Twitter whined that Ingraham had bullied him, and pressured advertisers to dump her show. Many corporations dutifully relented to the teen, even though Ingraham apologized to him.
Joy Reid cheerfully nodded in approval of Franks Schaeffer sanctimonious comments, where he was judging another Christian over whether shes pious enough in his opinion.
For a self-proclaimed Christian, Frank Schaeffer obviously doesnt remember Jesus own exhortation to his followers, which was: Judge not, lest you be judged. (Matthew 7:1). In todays parlance, that means: Those who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones.
What does Schaeffer think about Joy Reids homophobic rants? Are they Christian-like?
Always love how atheists are always willing to explain the Bible to Christians.
Always love how atheists are always willing to explain the Bible to Christians.
Funny isn’t it? I think the same thing.
What are Joy’s skeletons? Do tell!
Now he has gone completely against Christ, if the headline is accurate.
Not really. Most atheists were religious before ‘converting,’ and are quite familiar with what they don’t believe.
Jesus was not all love and kisses. He had a few choice words for hypocrites like the mouth-of-the-south boy and those who support his juvenile bullying. So did other prophets:
John the Baptist refused to give hypocrites a pass, telling them to produce fruits worthy of repentance (Luke 3:8). Jesus took an equally staunch stand against sanctimonyHe called hypocrites wolves in sheeps clothing (Matthew 7:15), whitewashed tombs (Matthew 23:27), snakes, and brood of vipers (Matthew 23:33).

Same fat tuna was on today lauding Winnie Mandela as an humanitarian
‘No one from that group has cracked a bible long enough to understand what it is.’
actually, a number of non believers are quite conversant with Scripture...
what teaching of Jesus does this guy mean? He doesn’t say specifically that I saw in the article. Jesus taught a lot of things but most people get stuck on the love your neighbor thing which was not the great commandment. Love God was the great commandment. everything else is after that.
I doubt God feels loved by some teen spouting about gun control when the teen has his own out of control issues and likely doesn’t even believe in God.
this athiest author and Joy have their own issues about loving God themselves -
loving your neighbor but not loving God doesn’t cut it in the end when Judement day comes.
Atheist who believes in G-d? Ooooookay.
The Left have a lot in common with islamic-terrorists as BOTH are extremely fond of using children as human shields.
“quite conversant with Scripture...”
Being conversant and actually doing the study are two different things. Most political candidates use the teleprompter and these atheist talking heads you see are the same. And memorizing information to use in conversation is a common practice. Many kids get by on tests in school by memorizing phrases for test questions. But they in most situations don’t understand and/or don’t retain the information involved. This is why a lot of kids come out of high school illiterate with nothing more than this process or tool to get by.

Franky Shaeffer’s illogical tome reflects a deep anger at his parents, I believe. He has not forgiven his parents, esp. his father, for being neglected as a child.
