One New York City firefighter has died and two have been seriously injured battling a blaze that broke out late Thursday on a film set in upper Manhattan, authorities said.
The deceased firefighter was Michael Davidson, 37, authorities said. The 15-year department veteran, who had reportedly been cited for bravery four times, leaves behind his wife and four daughters.

Fire fighting is dangerous business. Fire gives no quarter and has no remorse. It is a testament to firefighters skill and knowledge that so few are lost each year.
A brave man has been lost, full honors shall be given. His family should be cared for.
I hope an endowment can be put in place for his wife and daughters. They will need a monthly check for decades to replace this brave man.
Scott did have a brother named Michael as is listed in Scott's obit.

He worked Eng Co. 69 in Harlem, for a time with his father who recently retired...He reportedly has a brother Eric assigned to Eng. Co. 88, also FDNY...
Firefighting is a dangerous business with so many ways to get hurt or die...It’s also quite often a family affair; sons, daughters, brothers and sisters follow in dad’s and uncle’s footsteps...
