State Department approved anti-Trump articles by pro-Iran deal official

‘Trump’s dangerous shift on Iran’ author received approval from Foggy Bottom.'

The U.S. State Department under former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson vetted and approved the publication of fiercely anti-Trump news articles written by a current State Department official, Conservative Review has learned.

On October 13 in the White House, President Trump announced that he had ordered a complete strategic review concerning the United States’ Iran policy.

“Today, I am announcing our strategy, along with several major steps we are taking to confront the Iranian regime’s hostile actions and to ensure that Iran never, and I mean never, acquires a nuclear weapon,” the president announced, setting a major course change from the Obama administration’s appeasement-minded policies."

That didn’t sit well with State Department official Sahar Nowrouzzadeh, who has invested much of her career defending the Obama administration’s Iran deal. She co-authored an article targeting her new boss’s Iran policy in an article for Foreign Affairs titled, “Trump’s Dangerous Shift on Iran.”

A State Department spokesperson told Conservative Review that the article was “reviewed by the State Department,” pointing to legal restrictions that highlight the three circumstances in which a State Department employee is denied permission to publish:

*************

That is a question that could apply to pretty much all federal agencies. Why are so many Obama holdovers still in their positions where they can undermine Trump’s agenda and policies?

They should all have been terminated during the first week of the new administration.

Remove the termites before they weaken the structure.

Tillerson was weak. The bureaucrats in the State Department ran circles around him. They will celebrate for years to come Tillerson’s quick departure and the way they were able to confound and manipulate him. Chalk up one win for the Deep State.

Wow. Just wow. Trump’s own State Dept working against him. State has always been Leftist, no matter who is the President. Trump needs moles in every Agency to out the moles working against him. That being said, this woman was openly opposing Trump, with the support of Tillerson. No wonder Tillerson was booted. Obama’s Iran approach has guaranteed we will soon be trying simply to contain Iran’s nuclear arsenal.

Tillerson got rid of many political appointees but these career civil service bureaucrats are almost impossible to dislodge. many left in disgust, which was at least something good; but the rest will have to be flushed out with flame throwers, like Japanese dead Enders on Okinawa.

The Department of State should be dismantled and replaced with a stripped-down motivated quick reaction diplomatic body managed by a consortium of reliable and loyal senior people from the intelligence community and the military. Knowing which fork to use for your salad and the proper French phrases for polite social intercourse will no longer be required.

You are right. The entrenched “civil servants” are nearly impossible to dislodge. However, these resisters can be reassigned and moved around to jobs they might not find to their liking. The resisters can do a lot of damage if left in places where they can thwart the will of a president.

Well Tillerson, in spite of all the extra work it takes, you needed to make sure your guys at foggy bottom did not allow this woman’s stuff to be published. You know Mr Pompeo is not going to make that mistake.

Tillerson’s downfall??

I doubt it, because I serious doubt that Tillerson vetted the article personally. Instead it was vetted by yet another Obama sycophant within the State Department. I think the vast majority in that Department are liberal to moderate, with very few, if any, conservatives.
