Sessions considering whether to fire McCabe
CNN ^ | March 14, 2018 | Pamela Brown and Laura Jarrett

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was set to officially retire on March 18, but according to a source familiar with the matter, he could be fired just days before and lose his pension after a more than two-decade career at the bureau.

The embattled official abruptly stepped down at the end of January and has been on leave since that time.

CNN has learned the FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility has recommended McCabe be fired and now the decision is up to Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

I doubt it.

I will be surprised if he does fire McCabe.

The OPR report says he should, but if he does that will create a huge backlash...................

I still think Sessions voted for Doug Jones as his successor in the Senate.

McCabe is under the Federal Employees Retirement System. He's vested. They can't take that away from him even if he's fired.

Good point. The leverage of losing a lifetime pension and becoming penniless is rather strong, I’d say. Of course, if he spills his guts, he has to worry about Arkancide (and probably Obamacide, too).

“Sessions will not fire McCabe if he spills the beans and gives out a thorough debrief on the Obama initiative to frame
President Trump ( the so called “insurance policy,”).”

That’s not what’s happening...Sessions and the IG are trying to contain the damage for ‘our’ deep and corrupt state. McCabe and a few other peons will be thrown under the bus to protect the big fish.

“What would be the point of firing him now, other than to deny his pension? “

To rub it in and make it as painful as possible.Throw us a crumb will you Jeff?

Quick, somebody photoshop a picture of McCabe smoking a joint. Maybe that will get Jeff off the schnide.

How bout when he’s tried and hanged for treason? Does he still get a pension?

Instead of griping about Sessions, how about a little acknowledgement that the IG’s investigation is starting to show signs of paying off. Who’s to say that McCabe won’t be indicted yet?

Lots of shoes left to drop in the next couple of months, in my opinion. And when it’s all over, his critics will learn that Sessions did his job admirably, again, in my opinion.

This news on McCabe is promising, whether he’s fired this week or not.

I don't think that's correct. Pension vesting is a benefit you accrue as part of your job. Being fired, even for cause, doesn't take it away. Being convicted of a crime while you're working might impact it. But being convicted after you retire shouldn't.
