Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was set to officially retire on March 18, but according to a source familiar with the matter, he could be fired just days before and lose his pension after a more than two-decade career at the bureau.
The embattled official abruptly stepped down at the end of January and has been on leave since that time.
CNN has learned the FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility has recommended McCabe be fired and now the decision is up to Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

What would be the point of firing him now, other than to deny his pension? That could have been done over six months ago.
Sessions appears to be slow on the draw for most issues.

Really. Nothing says both couldn't happen. This rat deserves to be deprived of pension and sent to prison. That's how it would work in the military, why not the FBI.

Sessions will not fire McCabe if he spills the beans and gives out a thorough debrief on the Obama initiative to frame
President Trump ( the so called “insurance policy,”).
I assume that these negotiations have been ongoing. McCabe will be fired and lose his pension if he does not spill the magic negro’s beans.
Soon the matter will come to a head. And Sessions should be ready to fire McCabe if needed, and also prosecute him if he does not co-operate. Mueller is in the mic here as well, eyeballing how to call Sessions work “obstruction of justice.” President Trump could fire McCabe in a heartbeat, he’s on a roll.
Four days, and two of them are weekend. McCabe skates.
