I have long held the opinion that the GOP Establishment is happiest when they are in the Minority. As the minority party, they enjoy all of the perks and privileges that holding office offers while having the luxury of being able to “piss and moan” about not being able to do anything because they are the minority. No accountability and no responsibility to hamper their ability to fleece the taxpayers at will.
There should have never been a question that the democRATs would lose this race in an epic fashion. The RNCC threw this race and nobody will convince me otherwise.

I have long held the opinion that the GOP Establishment is happiest when they are in the Minority. You nailed it. They still get their paycheck and perks just the same as the minority party, and they can skate on the incessant excuse that they have no power to legislate.
Also, they can cater to real conservatives by pretending to push conservative values that they really don't have a heart for because they know these policies will never pass under democrat rule.

Excellent points you have made, Howie66.
When we have the POTUS, Senate, and House of Representatives...we naturally expect them to make progress.

This makes sense, especially when you consider how McCain and Romney could hardly bring themselves to criticize Obama in even the mildest milquetoast way when they were the GOP nominees.

I think you are absolutely right. For McConnell and company it is all perks and no responsibility, and they want to keep it that way. Never mind what the voters want or need.

GOP actually poured money into this race, but that won’t stop them from being gleeful about the loss if Saccone is a true conservative.
